Yes, it works. I have that exact card in my real MacPro running high Sierra. Also works in Sierra. Doesn't need any drivers they're already in the OS.

I'm using a real mac running sierra 10.12.5 to make the USB installer, I've tried 2 different drives and its the same outcome either way. it gets to where it is in the screenshot and it just sits there. After awhile the ESD install disk image mounts, I can still see the "disk activity light" on...
