    [Success] 5770 + HD4000 experience

Various things happened, and I upgraded to 10.8.3 and brought my second monitor up at about the same time. Normally I edit my ATI5000Controller.kext to have my framebuffer layout in the Hoolock address, which I did as usual. However, something about 10.8.3 would cause my system to hang when...

    Lost OC after Chimera 2.0.1?

My system is set to 4.5 in BIOS but it's running at 3.4. It was fine prior to installing Chimera 2.0.1. Has anyone else had this problem? Why now? Do I need to SSDT to fix it? Thanks in advance.

alc 898 audio lag when stream begins

Hey folks, So a "bug" I've noticed is that when pressing "play" on a media file or so on, the first ~1 second of audio gets cut off/clobbered. If I press "pause" and wait for ~5 minutes the problem will recur. I'm using optical out to a receiver, but I've tested it a little and seems fine, so...

5770 displayport not workimg after sleep

[SOLVED] 5770 displayport not workimg after sleep I suspect this is Apple's fault, but I wanted to get a thread going. After sleep, the displayport port on my 5770 (in this case MSI R5770) stops working. Plugging in the DVI cable simultaneously lets the displayport port work. At first I...

Reinstalled windows 7, lost boot priority...

Hello folks, So. Replacing windows SSD. Tried to clone from old win 7 SSD, fail. Tried to install fresh with other drives attached, fail. Installed win7. Turns out it made one of its damned boot partitions. Still got the EFI partition on Lion, but whatever Windows did killed my ability to set...

    OC-related BSOD in parallels?

Running 10.7.3 with BridgeHelper. OC'd to 4.7 and everything runs stable. I have a windows partition which I (in the past) have run in Parallels. But now it gives me the standard overclock "interrupt was not received in time" (or whatever) BSOD. Could this be some sort of hidden instability...

    REQ: ATI5000Controller.kext from 10.7.4

Hai Guise, I was hoping someone could upload a copy of ATI5000Controller.kext from 10.7.4. I'd like to to take a stab at editing it to enable my card, prior to actually installing 10.7.4. Thanks!

lost 2k geekbench score in OSX vs Win7

So I've got my 3570k up to 4.7GHz, and my memory from 1600 to 1800. Stable in Aida64 overnight. Yay. Geekbench 32bit in Win7 gives a 11850, but in OSX it's more like 9500. What gives? Looking at SMC Monitor, I see...nothing. Guess my processor isn't supported yet. Derp. But under P&C States...

cheap but upgradeable--IS Z68 FUTURE PROOF?

Hai Guise, I've been able to extend the life of my 5.5 year-old macbook pro through the magic of SSD, but am wanting to do some LIGHT GAMING and the old x1600 isn't cuttin' it! IVY BRIDGE is coming! Late but soon, as are some new VGAs, so prices will be dropping and I don't want to commit to...

    build now or wait

Thinking of putting together a hackintosh, Core i3 with a Radeon 6870, about $800. I know Ivy Bridge is coming up, however. On one hand, I could go with this build, and in 18 months or so put a discounted Ivy Bridge i7 in, then a new video card a couple years after that, and keep the system...
