thanks, for some reason I was thinking in "single-user mode"

OS X El Capitan Public Beta 4 is Now Available

I made a little bash script to ease the turning on and off of the rootless features needed for editing and upgrades. This is my "learning bash" experiment, so watch out for errors and feel free to change and redistribute. if [ ! -a /Volumes/EFI/* ]; then if [ -d /Volumes/EFI ]; then...

OS X El Capitan Public Beta 3 is Now Available

Yeah, 898. That's my understanding. I prefer to have as much SIP working as possible. What does it take to get kexts signed? As for the boot flags, using google to help my weak brain 0x1 =0b0000001 0x3 =0b0000011 0x28=0b0101000 0x40=0b1000000 0x65=0b1100101 0x67=0b1100111The...

OS X El Capitan Public Beta 3 is Now Available

I have kexts in s/l/e already from public beta 2 and was able to upgrade and fix audio with <key>CsrActiveConfig</key> <string>0x01</string> <key>BooterConfig</key> <string>0x28</string> Don't seem to have any problems. Not sure what BooterConfig does. This is clover ..53

That's marginally better. To clarify, "rootless=0" is being replaced by the CSR flags which allow more fine-grained control of what aspects of SIP are in place: http://www.idelta.info/archives/sip-rootless-internal-in-el-capitan/ I'm not clear why they're choosing 0x67, or what it will take to...

OS X El Capitan Public Beta 2 is Now Available

Yeah I thought this was the case. What an effing pain. Looks like trim support through clover patching is still going strong, fortunately.

    OS X 10.9.5 Update

Wow, this totally broke my system. Never happened before. Nvidia wouldn't run my second monitor although it was listed as attached. Audio wouldn't work. The more recent atherosL1c network driver wouldn't work. Totally fubar. Good thing I had a backup... I'll probably just wait until 10.10...

    GTX 760 doesn't throttle down

Looks like 10.9.3 didn't fix that opencl bug. Thanks Apple. Basically it's a bug with opencl. You can edit the opencl framework to not use the graphics card, if it bothers you enough.

    OS X 10.9.3 Update

How does it play with Nvidia web drivers? Does it fix the opencl graphics power management bug on Kepler cards?

    No GPU Power Managment

I copied the kext to the desktop, right click > show package contents > select "info.plist" > open in macvim > edit as described > save with command-S > install with kext wizard , which is also set to rebuild permissions and the kext cache > reboot. I had the original kext removed prior to...

    No GPU Power Managment

My AGPM is edited and loaded. You may be doing something wrong, or need to repair permissions. I'll attach my AGPM. This is edited to have a GTX 670 recognized under the MacMini Server 6,2 profile. I think it was F65... I grabbed the settings from an iMac which has the mobile equivalent of...

    No GPU Power Managment

Well this is VERY interesting. While the graphics power management doesn't seem to be better (I have a Dual-Link DVI-only monitor which HAS to be plugged in to the video card), enabling the HD4000 (via injection of the efi string and setting it to init first) has had an impact: Previously...

    EVGA GTX 760 Mavericks

What you're describing is an issue with the monitor. There is some setting like "overscan on" which needs to be set to "on."

    GTX 770 underperforming - Mavericks

Not really. A different system def or editing/deleting applegraphicspowermanagement.kext might help. My 670 seems to be working fine, although it still crashes running XCOM as did the 660 before it. There may be a problem with OpenGL 4.1 and Nvidia cards under the current drivers. I'd...

    **** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controll

I started having this problem off a stable build. I ran XCOM a few times, which would cause crashes, then the system would no longer boot. Then it would no longer boot in safe mode. Now I can only boot to the install USB, and only in safe mode. Booting to windows is fine, however. I've...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Right. This kind of seems to be a 10.8.5 issue. I'm inclined to try the 10.9 GM. Can you discuss that at all, or is it restricted info?

NVIDIA Updates Web Drivers for 10.8.5 Supplemental Update (313.01.03f02, 313.01.04)

NVIDIA Updates Web Drivers for 10.8.5 Supplemental Update (313.01.03f02) This update did not solve my intermittent crash under OpenGL. I'm very disappointed.
