Thanks for the reply. I saw that guide but wasn't sure if that was for Siera or an older version.
Do you have any experience with the Lenovo Y50-70 and know why the screen always flickers?
just bought a used Lenovo Y50-70 on eBay and have a couple of questions I'm not sure of. It came installed with Yosemite but want to upgrade to Siera.
1. Would I need to make a fresh install or is it the case of downloading from a the App Store.
2. When the machine boots up, the screen starts...
After you confirmed that even your setup isn't 100%, that made me realize that its going to be tough to get it perfect like running an original Mac. At a quarter of the price I can't really complain. My machine wasn't expensive, but I would definitely like to jump in and build my own machine...
So I'm not only with FaceTime problems. I think after what happened, it's best to stick with what I've got as everything works fine, I think even iMessage works, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
You mention iBooks displays a transparent screen, it may well be the case for me as...
I can't thank you enough for spending so much time to help with this...
Its working as it should from what I can tell. It looks like he was it was a simple as choosing the correct configuration. If anything I've learnt not to mess with that ever again.
If you have time, can I ask assuming...
I'm proficient enough in terms of using Mac OS, but not that experienced using terminal. I can follow instructions so pretty confident and willing to give it a try.
I changed the configuration to iMac8,1 system as I didn't know the best option to choose. I'm guessing that this may or may not...
That's correct I could boot via the clover menu without unibeast.
I just loaded up clover and configorator and clicked on SMBIOS. I had no idea what configuration to chose from the drop down menu so chose iMac because I know that the system before. Apart from that I changed the serial number...
So far I have found the device code which is diskOs2, then downloaded EFI mounter v3 and run it. The only options that came up are
diskOs1
disk1s1
neither of which are the same as I have under the device section. At a wild guess I would say diskOs1 is what I need to click on, but thought I d...
That's exactly what I chose. Mac OS Siera 10.25 as the other option was windows 10.
I tried contacting the eBay seller one last time, and still haven't heard back. Funny that he replied within minutes when I was going to buy the aching and ask him a couple of questions I was unsure about...
Yes, it only works with unibeast plugged in.
I've been wracking by brain trying to figure out a solution for this. If it's nothing to do with the startup disc, what else could be causing the problem.
Hi,
It took a while because my wife kept disturbing me. Anyway I followed your instructions and so far was able to boot from the USB. After holding down F12 the same screen as as shown in the image below came up.
First I chose the last option on the right which seemed to do an install. After...
Hi there,
Thank you so much for taking the time to help with this issue, as I still haven't heard back from the ebay seller I bought it from. I contacted him yesterday, but no reply. Unfortunately it didn't come with anyway to restore my system in case there was a problem. Luckily I didn't sell...
