So the ASMedia.kext was working for me on Big Sur 11.1 but after updating to 11.2 it's not working anymore. Tried updating to 11.2.3 and still no love.
Looks like it's loading in AppleASMediaUSBXHCI but I don't think that supports the ASMedia 2142 :(
The kext from this post worked to fix my ASMedia 2142 USB 3.1 ports! Woo!

Is it just people running dual nvidia cards that are having issues? I'm on 10.13.4 with 387.10.10.10.30.107 and it's running great. After effects, C4D, davinci resolve, all running great on a 1060 6gb.
Trying to decide if I should update to 10.13.6.
Are you saying someone has 10.13.4 running on a Pascal graphics card properly with the latest drivers? I've not seen a single report of this working without downgrading drivers. I cannot even downgrade as my machine glitches and freezes after waking from sleep with the older *.104 drivers.
Happy to report 10.13.4 Beta 6 with the Nvidia 161 driver is running really nice. Not perfect, still an occasional slowdown but it's actually usable! This is on my EVGA 1060 6GB. Also, no issues with crashing after sleep like I had with the 104 and older drivers.
Can't wait for the final...
The sleep issue seems to be gone in the latest driver on 10.13.3 with my 1060. But sometimes after a wake I still need to turn off my display and then turn it back on to get a picture. At least it's not completely freezing the machine now. But the UI is super laggy and it makes it difficult to...
No it's just loading 4 or so kexts from the EFI partition with clover. This is not an upgrade issue, it's a problem with the Nvidia Web drivers. They are awful and they are 5x awful on HS.
I took the plunge and updated to HS. Now I get a full on lockup when the drivers glitch out and have to hard reboot. No Kernel panic, and I cannot SSH or Remote desktop into the machine. I've disabled sleep and it is fine but I really wish it would sleep properly like it did in Sierra. I never...
Just installed High Sierra 10.13.3 Beta 2 in hopes it would help, but still seeing all the same issues. Going to just disable sleep and see if Nvidia can get their drivers fixed before I save enough money to buy an ATI card.
My build does not show anything in System Information > PCI for some reason. Weird, the nvidia web drivers are loaded and stuff.
I have a kaby lake build with a EVGA 1060 6GB and Gigabyte series 200 ultra gaming mb. Made the mistake of updating to High Seirra 10.13.2 and now I get crashes after...
Looks like in that video you posted the Nvidia web drivers are not loading at all. Thats exactly what mine does when the drivers are not loaded. You may need to install the clover nvram driver so the nvidia web driver can load on boot.
I've just been pressing Command+F1 when it happens which switches to screen mirroring. It works fine but if you don't have dual displays I can't imagine it would work.
Now my HS install is sometimes crashing when it happens and I have to hard reset. :(
So far the only fix I have found is to change to another graphics card. I don't have money to upgrade so I'm stuck dealing with it. Now on HS the computer sometimes crashes completely when the glitch happens and I have to hard restart. Get it together Nvidia.
