I tested it on a linux live usb (elementaryOS), it had the same problem (for reference this computer ran fine on elementaryOS with the same WiFi card last week). It displays the device so it must be getting data from it somehow but once again it is disabled and the toggle to enable doesn't work.

Ok thanks, that fixed the trackpad. System now detects. WiFi still sadly broken though. Also fixed the keyboard issue of not being able to change control with command etc..

I didn't see any question regarding WiFi on Windows. I imagine such a question might be "does the wifi work on windows" which I cannot currently answer as I don't have a windows partition currently. Maybe I'll check on an ubuntu live usb... Would that work? Is that what you're asking?
