[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

I used to have 14,3 to make my TB16 dock work but I've moved back to 14,1 since I'm no longer using that dock and 14,1 is definitely more stable. In both case however, facetime and iMessages used to work. Did you try my EFI folder?

I have both facetime and iMessage working for over 2 years now and they work flawlessly. You can with my EFI folder, just put it on a USB and boot with it instead. Also, can you install DPCIManager and check if your wireless controller shows up as eno0 there.

Is it actually NOT charging the laptop or it's just the status bar that says so. I have the same issue where both my status bar and activity monitor says it's not charging if I plug in my charger after I'm already booted into macOS but it is charging the battery regardless. You can test it...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

I mean I disabled thunderbolt boot and preboot support in BIOS. USB adapter tends to be different than Thunderbolt dock, so it might not work for you. I am curious to see inputs from other people using TB16 dock from Dell. I do not have a USB3 drive with me right now but I'll send my testing...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

So, I'm using same folder as @nikoel now and everything seems to be working except Bluetooth and AppStore. I've disabled Thunderbolt boot and pre-boot support in BIOS too as I really don't need it. I've found in my testing that TB16 hotplug works. My laptop was already booted up and I inserted...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

That's interesting because I'm using 14,3 and all my ports including USBC port works. Wifi works too and I'm able to see devices and connect to them and use. I will be able to test TB16 dock next week but yeah if you want to give my clover folder a try. I've posted it above. Update 1: I am...

Depending on what model number you're using you can keep the same serial number if you're already using MacBookPro14,3 because that what my config uses. Having said that, I change my serial number all the time and I've not seen any issues with that personally. Just have to login to my apple...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

I got it working without using USBInjectAll.kext. I'm traveling so I haven't tested TB16 dock and since I don't use iPhone I can't test handoff/Airplay but Bluetooth works. I got FV2 working with 10.15.1 provided you boot with verbose mode. Here's my Clover folder and IOreg. I think using...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

@blazinsmokey Thanks for the detailed explanation. Yes, I haven't devoted much time to figure out why it works. I'd happy to provide IOreg once I figure out why my system is broken after 10.15.1 upgrade. I'm not seeing login screen with filevault2 enabled and there are no verbose logs...

Yeah, that's not something I use so I haven't tested it at all. Would you mind to share you EFI? I'm going to give your configs a try.

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

Yes, that's the one. I couldn't get it to work with just using USBPorts.kext so I had to use USBInjectAll.kext. It's funny because I upgraded to 10.15.1 and my system broke. It doesn't show me filevault2 login screen anymore :( Are you using FileVault2?

Yup, I'm on Catalina. Here's my clover folder. You'll have to add UsbInjext.kext (not included in this zip)

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

For the folks using FileVault2, you can cut the waiting time by booting with verbose mode using -v. I don't know why it does that but it boots way faster when verbose enabled. I also have TB16 dock and everything works if I plug the USB-C cable on clover boot screen. I couldn't get audio to...

    Intel Hades Canyon NUC?

No, just mount the ESP folder and replace the CLOVER folder there with this one. You can use EFI mount app. Just search google.

Try my folder and see if that changes anything for you. I'm on 10.14.6 too.

Here's my clover folder. I have Displayport audio, rear audio jack and FileVault2 working. Only thing that doesn't work is WiFI for obvious reasons but I use Ethernet ports anyway so I'm good.

Here is my clover folder that you can use. It doesn't have the config.plist file but you can get it from the comment from betterclever earlier in this post.

    Intel Hades Canyon NUC?

Nevermind, I fixed the issue by using Fixup Kext provided at https://github.com/osy86/Polaris22Fixup I didn't have to change anything in my config.plist. Just make sure you use the lilu kext provided within that release because this PolarisFixup and Lilu don't play nice together. You can read...

    Intel Hades Canyon NUC?

I did add that to my config but as soon as I add the fixup kext and reboot it usually throws kernel panic. I tried whole day yesterday and gave up on it lol.
