I’ve spent the last few days jumping (or trying to) from Catalina to Monterey.
I think everything is pretty good to go, except, after 2nd restart during installation (clean install), I have no option to “boot Mac OS from.” Instead, I can boot my install media (USB) or Recovery, Preboot, etc...
I've tried everything that I can think of and I can EITHER get:
Boot to Black Screen, OR
Boot with NO Acceleration.
I've clean installed, used Display Port > HDMI Adapter (monitor is HDMI), tried to let WEG and LILU do the heavy lifting (maybe I messed up), tried every boot argument I...

I finally got my 'new' gpu. Switched form an OOOLD Nvidia card to the recommended RX 580. It took me a day to get rid of the black screen.
