Hi everyone,
The build is going well, but I'm sure many would agree that the touchpad could be improved. I find the voodoo driver included with this guide not very good for scrolling - tends to stutter and hesitate.
Searching for an alternative driver I came across this cypress touchpad...
Hey guys, I think I need some clarification on this section of the guide.
I checked under system preferences .. keyboard and didn't see anything that could be related to the touch pad. I'm curious where you can edit these gestures/ keyboard mappings.
The track pad works, but the two finger...
Hey all,
Have any of you been able to get a Dell dock (TB16 or WD15) to work under MacOS? If so, does it supply power to the laptop? Ideally I'm looking for a one cable solution.
Thanks in advance.
Hey all, have any of you been able to thunderbolt dock this hackintosh? For example the Dell TB16 or WD15? I read somewhere that the dock can only supply power or data but not both. I find it weird that it can't do both under MacOS, but it can under Windows 10?
The Kaby Lake R laptops look promising. A quad core in a 13" laptop sounds awesome as per the recent announcement of the Kaby Lake R Dell XPS 13. I started searching for discussions on Kaby Lake R and Hackintoshes, but came up empty handed so why not start one?
Any speculation if the Kaby...
Thanks for the info. Is it difficult to install? How long did it take you? I wouldn't even attempt the one where you have to take apart the display and mess with the antenna.
Keep up the good work guys! I was introduced to the hacking community late 2016 and built a great Hackintosh desktop but I'm really missing the portability of a laptop. Apple's offerings are too expensive for what you get, and I want the ports, contemporary hardware, but not the gimmicky...
The Asus Thunderbolt3EX card worked well for me after making the necessary bios changes and moved it to the PCI slot closest to the TB header. The only issue is I have to boot it into Windows 10 first where the installed Intel driver configures and enables the chain, then reboot into Mac OS...

I have the ASUS Thunderbolt 3 EX add in card on a Gigabyte mobo. After making some changes in my bios described here, I got it to work in MacOS and Win 10. However, to get it to work in MacOS I need to boot it into Windows first thereby running the intel driver, then reboot to MacOS. This...
EDIT: I found the WIFI driver in a folder of a boot camp support disk (which I made from the boot camp assistant utility). For the bluetooth driver under Windows 10 I used the generic bluetooth driver as instructed by OSXWIFI's forum. So far, everything is working well and I can iMessage from...
Any benefits other than matching brands? Those are a little harder to find. The Asus one I can get from Amazon, the
GC-ALPINE RIDGE I have to order from online computer stores I've never heard of.
Thanks.
This is great! Thanks for the info. I've been using an Pro Tools Duet and have been considering the switch to the new Apollo MKII. I have the Gigabyte GAZ170-MX Gaming 5 and regretted not getting a TB mobo but someone on TonyMac linked me here. I'll order it on Amazon and give it a shot.
