[Success] Sierra on MSI z170M Mortar, i7 6700K

I really hope not. I was thinking of using this guide to attempt Mojave, maybe a better guide will come out later for specs similar to ours: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-msi-z270-tomahawk-intel-core-i7-7700k-gtx-1080-ti.255676/

[Success] Sierra on MSI z170M Mortar, i7 6700K

Negative. I probably won't upgrade until the new year. I attempted High Sierra and it barfed. I would expect that Mojave wouldn't be that much different, I just need to put the time into it.

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Last I checked it was still on the recommended parts list provided by tonymac.

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

What version of macOS are you running? Have you tried everything suggested on this thread? I might be a bit slow in replying- sorting things out with my own machine now.

[Success] Sierra on MSI z170M Mortar, i7 6700K

Curious- do these instructions and settings happen to work on High Sierra?

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

I've seen that problem before...But I'd have to hunt down where I saw it last. I'll post it here once I find it, if you haven't found a solution.

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Refer to BreBo's suggestion. Could work out for you.

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

@BreBo, you are LITERALLY A GODSEND! Everything works perfectly now. It is glorious and beautiful! Want to thank everyone for all your help in resolving this. It's been rough, I might not have been the best at giving all the information needed. But in the end we figured it out. A thousand...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

So still no difference, still scratching my head and wondering how everyone else is doing it. On the bright side, things have been working more or less smoothly besides the graphics. Booting up has been flawless, and iCloud appears to be working well. I was also able to update to 10.12.5...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

I got the drivers from the same place, but I figured that maybe Nvidia's actual page might be a little more telling. I'm holding off on 10.12.5, I'm still on 10.12.4.

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

If I boot with nv_disabled=1 then I am able to boot without a problem...well..."problem." It is still sluggish, but I am still able to make changes wherever needed. I have gone through the steps in the forum for common graphics issues and nothing seems to have an effect. I don't know if it is...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Gentlemen...or ladies...compatriots, I have made some progress. One last thing appears to be in my way. @Shoikan, your suggestions worked for the most part. I no longer get the no entry sign (yay!). I was able to at least get the graphics card recognized in the system information, however the...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

I'll give that a try tonight- under matchOS, should I also add 10.12? Just remembering from the kernel panic, it said match os version: not yet set. Could that have something to do with it?

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

That is correct- they are different configs. Since I was unable to boot into macOS previously, I decided to blow it away and try again (which seems to be a pattern as of late, unfortunately). I may end up doing it again since I am getting a kernel panic at boot and @Shoikan 's suggestions for...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

@Shoikan Thanks for the tips! I'll give them a try when I get home from work tonight. @WonkeyDonkey, I got that config.plist from my local machine. What seems to be wrong with it?

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

@UtterDisbelief , @WonkeyDonkey, thank you for your input, and sorry for my absence. Things picked up at work and I got a little preoccupied with that. I blew away the system again (I seem to do that a lot...) and have done as yall have suggested. Sadly, I returned the Gigabyte card, so for now...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Ok, turns out it was the graphics card. But I'm running into a different problem which might be for a different thread or someone might have already tried it. The reason why I think I'm closer is because the actual card name is showing up in the bootloader, which wasn't the case before...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Yea, I have already ordered another card to test- still a 1050 TI from EVGA (current card is a 1050 from Gigabyte). Maybe (hopefully) I'll get different results. But to make matters worse when I switched to the IGPU it still freezes on boot. :beachball: I'm really sorry for all of this- I don't...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Ok, I've done a little more work, and I think I've made "progress." I ended up blowing everything away and recreating my UniBeast USB. I reset my BIOS and started from scratch. I made sure that the GPU had priority over the internal graphics, installed macOS, ran MultiBeast with the Nvidia Web...

[SOLVED] GTX Geforce 1050 not being detected

Yea I don't have that setting. It's either PEG or IGP. Maybe my BIOS needs an update, I'll take a closer look tonight after work. Thanks again for you're input, I'll keep going :)
