I login to my router control panel remotely and there is an option "wake on lan". I just enter the MAC address of my machine and it wakes up the system, providing i shut down or sleep via Windows 7.

Its set to PME event wake up. I dont have a LAN option. But this option allows me to wake up the system remotely as long as i shut down using Windows 7.
