Hey, I ended up giving up on the iGPU, so I switched to the iMacPro SMBIOS. I've also done USB port mapping, but now sleep stops working after a day or two. Then I have to do your method of unplugging the computer for a few seconds and then rebooting in order for sleep to work, and then sleep...
I'm also wondering this; I went through all the effort of USB port mapping (I followed a nice YouTube video, but still) and I tinkered a lot with different ACPI patches, and now sleep all works other than drives not being ejected properly during sleep, and this only is an issue for my USB 3.1...
Hey, how do you disable SIP. I tried changing the value in the config to 67000000 and doing the clean NVRAM etc, but the disk is still locked.
I want to go into /S/L/E to modify a kext but at the moment it won't let me
@tecnicasopr Do you know what this means? I've been reading up about it and trying to get it to work but I'm still confused. Is it considered headless only if the monitors are daisychained?
I know, but I want to buy an LG UltraFine 4k which connects over USB-C which only my iGPU has. I don't want to buy an adapter for now to get it to work with my DisplayPort, since those are expensive. I'd be buying the 21.5" at a good price, second hand
Ok thanks. Maybe for now you can just try simply switching your cable to your display from your dGPU to your iGPU to see if it works for you, (without changing your platform-id or EFI at all)
If it works for you, then I know that USB mapping is probably the issue for me
@tecnicasopr Have you managed to get sleep working when your HD 530 is connected to a display? Can you please try it, because Skylake and KabyLake have very troublesome sleep, and so it might even be impossible for wake-from-sleep to be fixed.
I’ve tried all that you’ve suggested (aside from...
Okay thanks. It works, but waking up from sleep unfortunately still doesn't work. You seem like such a professional at this stuff. Would you be be able to please try running your monitor with your Intel HD 530 to fix sleep. It's definitely not a USB mapping issue or anything since I can wake up...
Thanks, so the steps are:
1. Update my EFI to yours
2. Reboot and press space
3. Pick the CFGLock.efi tool and type Y for yes
4. Pick the CleanNvram tool
5. Reboot into macOS
?
Oh what, did it actually work for you? And which UltraFine specifically are you using? Do things like the speaks and USB ports work for you on the monitor?
True, it definitely is better to have the RX 580 driving the monitor, but with the LG UltraFine, this isn't possible without an expensive adapter.
I'll get the monitor and then if the performance is too poor then I'll eventually buy the adapter.
I tested the headless RX 580 and it works. Using...
But I don't want headless. I want non-headless because I want to buy a 2nd hand UltraFine 4k monitor that I can connect over USB-C (which would require intel graphics). In a way, I actually want the RX 580 to be headless while the Intel HD 530 is driving the display
