Appears to be working well.
I did have one hiccup... I updated to OC 0.9.8 and my Metal score dropped alot, like in the 98,000 to 110,000 rage.
I put my old OC 0.9.5 EFI back and it's back to 230,000
I referenced the video from here to create the ssdt:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/radeon-rx-6950-xt.320302/post-2322505
Worked without any issues.
Turned out my ssdt was the same as the ssdt linked in post 9.
I used hackintool to get the device path.
I was considering the Fractal Torrent case but decided to go with an aio cooler and ended up getting a Llian Li Lancool 216 (w/o RGB). At the time it was $99. Great case for the money. The large 160mm fans in the front are quite odd, but very effective. I like to keep them under 60-65% to keep...
I agree, 16 is not enough. 32 is not enough either... I have a MacStudio with 32, and, if you push the RAM limits, the machine is useless! Open and Save dialogs do not open. It doesn't crash. It just refuses to do anything until you Force quit the problem app waiting for the dialog. You can...
I installed the card @CaseySJ recommended:
Fenvi BCM94360NG WiFi/BT NGFF M.2 Key A/E Module
It works very well.
I recently did a fresh install of 12.6.5, did not migrate anything... now I have been having lots of Finder crashes. I think they are graphics/Metal related. If I select a bunch if...
Question: Anyone getting any crashes with the Finder?
I have performed a fresh install of 12.6.5 with very minimal apps installed... And I am now getting Finder crashes and it is sometimes just logging out (seems like it crashing and sending to the login screen).

I just wanted to report that I had been having trouble with major OS slowdowns... opening apps, windows etc...
I noticed it was happening after leaving the computer unattended... I have all sleep timers, hard drive sleep, screensavers and anything sleep related disabled. At first I thougnt it...
@jakoopa99
have you looked into the Mac OS font smoothing settings? It can sometimes be the cause of blurry text.
This should work in Big Sur and Monterey.
Light:
defaults -currentHost write -g AppleFontSmoothing -int 1
Medium:

I’m not exactly sure what I started on when I bought this board, but I am booted in Windows now and just checked. I am now showing NVM 38.0 on Z790 ProArt. o_O
Yes. Since I’ve moved the macOS drive to the CPU slot and dropped voltage to 1.285 and set line load to 6 I’ve been stable and freeze up free. (I probably just jinxed myself.) :silent:
On another note, although benchmarks are good in macOS, power management seems off in Windows and Ubuntu. I...
nah... it was loud like the little fans in the routers and switches. they probably get them cheap. I have no idea how they expect anyone to put their enclosure on your desk next to your computer with that noisy fan. I have better cooling now and it's quieter, only drawback is I have to stand it...
12.6.3
No dock. Just a OWC Express 4m2 enclosure I use on and off for stuff. It used to be annoying as my other hack was not working right with TB3 hot swap. This one just works.
Which I do not recommend unless you feel like modding the enclosure. The fan is ridiculously loud. I heavily...
I would like to thank @CaseySJ once again for his time and effort in making the onboard Thunderbolt work. I just plugged in a 4 disk NVMe TB3 enclosure, and it just appeared on the desktop!
I’ve also been freeze up free all day as well.
I am on 816. I went straight to 816 before I updated the ME. My problem with the nvme seems to have been location. Don’t use the lower right side nvme for macOS.
After I moved the NVMe things got better. The 2 freeze ups I experienced after haven’t happened today. Computer was running and...
I searched for a while without success. I know the ASUS bios quite well now though. Lol.
Last night I got 2 freeze ups before I decided to go to sleep, not like the ones previously. These were just freeze ups, everything stopped, no reboot, no messages, no improper shutdown, just freezes...
Hi @dehjomz, the first thing I did was ME update and then the BIOS update. I moved the NVME with macOS to the NVME slot attached to the CPU and no problems with macOS since.
Hopefully the NVME's with Windows and Linux are happy in the other slots. :|
I've seen that on the Gigabyte boards. I couldn't find anything about it in Asus. I have now moved the NVMe to the slot closest to the CPU. I had my Windows drive there. I just pulled it for now. I'll put it in another slot later.
Before the computer crashed/locked randomly but the last...
So my random beach ball lockup crashes are NVMe related. I'm using a WDSN770. Any thoughts? Lastest nvmefix.kext is installed.
I should add that this NVMe was working fine in Z490 Vision D.
