I'm in the same boat as the poster above - only BlueToolFixup kext 2.6.1 was needed. Previously on Big Sur the bluetooth USB dongle has worked without any kexts.

Sorry to disappoint you but you are not ready. Big Sur beta 10 has introduced some further changes that will have to be incorporated into the bootloaders. OC 0.6.3alpha has just been fixed hence Clover devs will have to follow.

I do keep backup of the two EFIs. My Windows is 7 so the risk of unwanted updates is very low there though.

Huh? The worst that can normally happen is that your EFI partition is borked. Not sure how you've managed to kill your drive. Anyway keeping EFI backup on a usb (so that at worst you can boot from this usb) is the minimum you could do.

I've updated 2 hacks and one genuine MBP 13" 2015. I've had most trouble with MBP! The after-install stuff on MBP got suck at some point and I had to reboot. Both Hackintoshes (see my signature) have updated without a hitch, everything is working.

Just a heads up, 10.14.5 is the first osx requiring notarization of kexts, as a result (even on genuine macs) some developers have been caught unaware. For example the latest Oracle Virtual box 6.0.8 fails to install due to updated kext.

I've read the forum posts, hence updated Clover to 4895 first. Both hacks (see my signature) then updated without an issue. No problems with USB or sound reported here.
