UPD.
Ok, it it brightness control: whatever is set in Os X is ignored by hardware. During Boot, after clover when the Apple logo with the progress bar appears, gust after crossing middle of the bar brightness fades down to 0.
Using a strong flashlight I can see what is on the screen and manage...
It was a while of more or less happy use of my Acer with Sierra... but a day ago it went asleep (as it always did), but after waking up the screen was black.
I do know system is there as I can use hotkeys and hear sounds, open DVD drive etc. But no screen what's or ever. I tried to hook up...
Quipper
Well. Apart that there might be any issues during installation, I can tell that in my case it is the same: the only way to sleep correctly is to close lid.
More over, I have to press power button as system will not wake automatically.
Ok, for some time it was working. After upgrade to 10.12.3 it was working...
No I upgraded to 10.12.4 and sound disappeared. I can view devices (even sound controls works) but no sound from speakers or headphones.
Could one advice me what has been changed or how to unroll upgrade?
So basically yes - with the closed lid it sleeps. And is very hard to be awaken. It takes about 30 sec to get himself back online. Touchpad will not work after that until next boot... Seems like system tries to boot itself was CD makes sound like moving laser head and it makes such a sound...
Seems it was a Display:
Mar 2 11:03:46 Kaims-iMac Bongiovi DPS[386]: Display did wake notification.
Mar 2 11:05:01 Kaims-iMac Bongiovi DPS[386]: Display did wake notification.
It's great, thank you!
I applied aml files from attached zip... and now I have instant wake. But the good thing - without reboot. PC sleeps for about 2 seconds and then wakes up... without USB. USB2 HUB gets removed from the system according to IOReg.
Am I right that cause of awakens should be...
More over.
The VN7-591G model is way much compatible with OS X then VN7-791G.
Your motherboard is smaller then mine and has a different layout and total number of USB ports. Different Nvidia chip. I think there are more differences especially within chipset (CPU is different also).
Could you...
Done. Please see attached Clover folder.
I did it already but I had to state it clearly. I reinstalled OS X from scratch with all patching I knew that was needed. As I mentioned there is an error with IGPU patch. In my SSDT-7 files there are lots of GPU related lines. Patch GFX0 to IGPU brings...
I'ts me again.
Seems I did everything but still instant reboot upon wake after sleep. Diag attached. Could you please guide me where to look? It may be that I did not patch all GPU staff but as mentioned above files fails to compile after patching.
Apart of it everything is fine: 5Ghz wifi...
I am still in search of an issue.
So it is clear for me that before I had instant wake and then reboot on wake. No as I cleared instant wake the last one (reboot on wake) still present.
By the way - I was unable to rename IGU in all SSDT as in SSDT-7 (if I am not wrong) cases files would bot...
Indeed I do. But systems just boots stright from the bios. It's almost the same as before, but now it can sleep for infinite time, not just 1 second or so.
Symptoms are:
Close LID or press Sleep... from Apple menu makes laptop sleeping.
It is a real sleep, not compared to what was before: fans down, HDD down, display down and a orange LED blinking
BUT, I am unable to wake it:
Press a mouse
Press any kay on keyboard
Insert USB
open\close CD drive...
