Intel HD 620 graphics glitch with rehabman config.plist

No he's saying you've not done the stuff he told you to do in post 3 of this thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/intel-hd-620-graphics-glitch-with-rehabman-config-plist.252096/#post-1746723 I can see that too.

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Can you attach the DSDT in the original .dsl format please? Compiled and alone in .aml format is fairly useless. You should be submitting a debug file for help requests like this: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/tool-generate-proper-problem-reporting-files.235953/ That way we can actually...

Kernel_task process hogging CPU and memory

Okay I found out the cause, it's the VoodooI2C.kext for my trackpad!! (the new VoodooI2C v2.0.1)... Apparently the developer knows about the issue, high CPU usage is a bug unique to newer Elan 1300 trackpads, it's the same on all Linux distro's too... He's waiting for Elan to issue an update...

Kernel_task process hogging CPU and memory

Okay thanks, I'll try now. If that doesn't work are there other causes outside kexts? Any usual suspects you know about with High Sierra?

Kernel_task process hogging CPU and memory

Okay I cleaned up my kexts and reset the cache, removed AppleALC.kext, rebooted several times... but the problem persists and is as bad as ever... Any way to break down this kernel_task and find out what's calling on it? Thanks :)

Kernel_task process hogging CPU and memory

I have a process called "kernel_task" that is hogging 125% of my CPU resources and a large chunk of my available memory. I know it's kind-of normal on MacOS but it's really using way more than it should, making my computer run hot and fans blast full 24/7. It's also destroying my battery life...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Okay I finally got it working... the issue was that the corresponding GPIO pin for my IOInterruptScheduler (6D) is 0x55, however for some crazy reason 0x55 doesn't work on my machine... I ran through all the pins and when I eventually got to 0x34... boom worked!! :headbang: Thanks for all your...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Still no dice, I was able to get the trackpad working with the same DSDT file you helped me build, and this modified version of the VoodooI2C kext designed for the Elan 1300 I found in deep in a random thread. Interestingly if I change the pinning in my DSDT to another one, the modified kext no...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Okay I have no idea how they got there anyway! Cleaned up too... I enabled the GPIO controller and pinned my _CRS method below ETPD exactly as described for my trackpad (pins are 0x0055 for me), I even compared my file to others with the exact same machine to make sure I did everything...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Thanks @ben9923 I've cleaned everything up, installed a fresh config.plist from RehabMan, restored the old AppleIntelLpssI2C*.kext + AppleHPM.kext and disabled them using the KextsToPatch entry. Obtained fresh DSDT files and repatched them just with the basic patches that I need: Windows 10...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

I can get all that too, I don't even need to patch my DSDT, just installing the VoodooI2C kexts gives me that info, but the trackpad stays completely dead and nothing showing in System Prefs, doesn't make a difference if I patch the DSDT or not. Anyway I've asked the dev for some help, for now...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

That's the weird part, officially my laptop (UX430UA) has the Elan 1200, and most guides say that too, but both Windows and MacOS show it as an Elan 1300, and the interrupt specifiers mean the only pins I can use are 0x0055

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

No good I'm afraid, that DSDT has completely the wrong pinnings for me anyway (the Elan 1300 uses 0x0055). When I fix the pinnings I can see the touchpad in System Preferences but it's still dead and unresponsive to physical touch. I know the touchpad is working because I can go back and use the...

    Asus - UX430UA - Kaby Lake i7-7500U Intel HD Graphics 620

Hey @gulios I tried forever to get your guide to work for my trackpad, but in the end I realised despite having the exact same model laptop as you, the Asus UX430UA, mine has an Elan 1300 not an Elan 1200, which was causing all kinds of problems!

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Hi again @anonymous-writer, I did exactly as you suggested, changed the kexts and used the patch... still not working!!! :banghead: Here's an updated debugging dump for you: I've attached the Intel Power Gadget screenshot anyway for posterities sake: Other people with the exact same model...

    Asus - UX430UA - Kaby Lake i7-7500U Intel HD Graphics 620

Hey @gulios, I have the exact same UX430UA model as you, and I'm having a nightmare trying to get the trackpad to work, or even just be detected by MacOS. I install the correct kexts (same 2 as you), in the exact same place as you, patch the DSDT as instructed in the VoodooI2C guide, do the...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Hi @anonymous-writer, I did exactly as you said but still not working, I even cleaned all my DSDT and SSDT's and tried again from scratch, and still absolutely nothing!! I feel like I'm going crazy :banghead: There must be something super simple I'm missing because everyone else has it working...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

I'm using the dreaded ELAN1200 and simply can't get my touchpad to work, although others here on this forum with the exact same model laptop (Asus UX430UA) seem to have no problems, including multitouch. I've installed the correct kexts, patched the DSDT, done the GPIO pinning and even deleted...

[solved] Bluetooth (Asus USB-BT400) Not Working

Dude you reply faster and with better answers than official Apple support! Your second suggestion was the issue, I disabled the bluetooth in the bios and all working now, can't believe I didn't think of that before. It's not just working but working great, I've got full handoff support...

[solved] Bluetooth (Asus USB-BT400) Not Working

Hi. I’m going insane trying to get a USB bluetooth dongle to work.o_O It’s a fairly popular dongle in the Hackintosh community Asus USB-BT400, my USB ports are all working great with other devices, even USB 3.0 works perfectly with hard drives / phone / wireless mouse etc... and this is a clean...
