I have a very similar build, but im using a 1070 card which causes me a lot of issues. However, do you recommend if I start from scratch to reinstall the OS, would this help with my situation. The problem I am facing now, is the infinity loop on startup if I use the latest nvidia driver...
thanks for the reply, it has been really annoying to me too. The driver used to work even it was slow, now its just impossible to use. I am sure there are some monkeys working on this project instead of the normal programmer.
Hi Scambler77.
I am booting into a black screen after updated my nvidia driver. I tried your method:
1. remove the Nvidia driver according to the method in this post:

2. updated to...
Great work as usual, however, I'm bumping into some issues here after updating to 10.13.3. with the latest Nvidia driver.
Issue: update went smooth and I installed the Nvidia driver manually through the provided URL. However, I booted into a black screen after the Apple Logo. the monitor is on...
New driver update:
change Rt Var to 0x0, restart, update and change back to 0x67, restart.
Everything works fine, not sure if changing it back to 0x0 is necessary for updating driver, but I did it anyways.
This is interesting. I am having very similar build as yours, but I never needed to remove NVDAStartup.kext. I am using 14,2 as my system, and I am using 1070 instead of 970.
Hi Everyone, quick update:
I have located where the problem is and it is really weird. It is my Steelseries Arctis 5 gaming headset. Whenever I disconnect it from the build, it boots fast. I have tried every USB port, even those on my monitor and no matter which one port I use, it causes slow...
Hi everyone,
Like a lot of you guys, I have been trying to install 10.13.0 on my Hackintosh, and while I was facing Nvidia Graphics Issues, now they are solved. However, my booting time is extremely long after installing Nvidia web driver. So I use verbose mode and found out that it is the...
I tried it last night and also booted with nv_disable=1, but still stuck at apple logo. TBH, i dont know what else i can do at this point. I cant even boot into the unibeast install to do a clean install.
Yes, I have the same issue. When I enter the install drive, it stuck at Apple logo, and I also tried to install a clean version of Sierra and found out that I cannot boot into unibeasg drive either. Also, same happens to the recovery partition.
I have same issue as yours, stuck at apple logo. Could you boot into recovery mode? I am starting to question it is a BIOS setting with gigabyte board.
