    Brightness Control XPS 7590 (i7-9750H - UHD 630)

For some years I've been using this app to control OLED brightness: http://users.skynet.be/fb197283/dimmer.html http://users.skynet.be/fb197283/dimmer-help.html It's a real brightness control, not some overlay screen. But I'm not sure if this app is still available.

[Guide] Intel Framebuffer patching using WhateverGreen

As for the problem in post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-intel-framebuffer-patching-using-whatevergreen.256490/page-45#post-1844885 I see in Ioreg that there is no alc-layout-id. What am I doing wrong? Kexts installed into L/E/ Kexts gets loaded: 2 0xffffff7f80a90000 0x22000...

[Guide] Intel Framebuffer patching using WhateverGreen

It seems I can't get audio working. I did everything as per guide (anyway I didn't have any DSDT fixes like FixDisplay, AddIMEI, etc, or IGPU/HDMI entries or GFX0 renamings, or framebuffer patches in config.plist) but I get these results: Prior with IntelGraphicsFixup: 1. AppleALC 1.2.7 +...

    macOS 10.13.6 Update

I updates all kexts (including to AppleALC 1.2.8) before updating to 10.13.6 and after update I got only DisplayPort sound and no sound on laptop internal speakers. Tried reinstalling AppleALC 1.2.8 and clearing cashes - still no sound. Rolled back to AppleALC 1.2.7 and sound started to work as...

[README] Common Problems in 10.13 High Sierra

I understand. Anyway I returned back to Sierra as it worked really reliably and in High Sierra I lost sound and had to set Hidpi resolution every time after boot as it would go back to closest simple resolution. Will return back to it some time in the future. Thank you.

[README] Common Problems in 10.13 High Sierra

Trim support was always On on my computer. I never did anything to enable it and now seems I can't disable it after High Sierra install. I tried "sudo trimforce disable" but after computer had restared the Trim was still On. I tried to delete KextToPatch "Enable TRIM for SSD" and still Trim...

    How to Fix iMessage

Facetime and iMessages suddenly started to work on my computer. So here is my story. After install of macOS (will be a year soon) I tried to login into iMessages and Facetime and received a Customer Code. I called support - they said that they entered that code, but it didn't work. Finally...

    NVMe native support in 10.13

Do you mean that in your case there is no need for HackrNVMeFamily-10_12_6.kext and class-code spoof?

[Guide] Sierra on HP Spectre x360

For OLED screens with no native brightness this brightness control does the job. It doesn't put an overlay but scales video signal. There was a free alternative (an ugly looking app and now it is gone - at least I can't find it). I am getting around + 1 hour with battery compared to an overlay...

    How to Fix iMessage

Could it be, that enoch uses MLB and ROM form real Mac if you don't enter these values manually? Just like Clover used the real serial number when I didn't specify it in config.plist.

    How to Fix iMessage

My specs are in signature and are as close to MacBookPro13,1 as possible. It is almost a MacBook Pro 13 Actually when I called and told that have ID issue and need to enter Client Code, tech person told straight away that they can't proceed if I don't provide serial number. They tried to find...

    How to Fix iMessage

The person was very kind and entered the client code i provided her with. It simply didn't work. It doesn't matter if I say that ID was working - the fact is that client code didn't work (unless there multiple ways to enter the code or something?) and they asked for more info (which I don't...

    How to Fix iMessage

You could try to create a new Apple ID with some new yahoo or gmail email and see what happens. I tend to think that it would result in "client code" issue. When I got "client code" error and called Apple, even entering client code didn't help, and they said that they will only be able to...

[Guide] Sierra on HP Spectre x360

No, I'm saying that that slider appears, but doesn't control anything. There is no brightness control. Regarding debugging, I have understood that I'm not good at it, when I was patching the battery, so maybe sometime in the future :)

Tested it and the brightness doesn't work. Display appears as in-build, slider appears, sleep upon closing the lid works - just the brightness doesn't. So I will try xrandr with Xquartz. Not much hope though.

DSDT compiles without errors, but I want to be sure I understood your post correctly: - Changed DD02 to DD1F in the patch - Added Externals in DSDT: External (_SB_.PCI0.GFX0.DD1F._BCM, MethodObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.GFX0.DD1F._BQC, MethodObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.GFX0.DD1F._BCL...

Applying Brightness Fix (ACPI 100) gives 4 errors in DSDT. Not sure how to fix them to proceed further. Attaching DSDT.dsl without patches but with errors corrected, current DSDT with patches including Brightness Fix (ACPI 100) and original amls from EFI. It seems that OLED brightness is also a...

[Guide] HackrNVMeFamily co-existence with IONVMeFamily using class-code spoof

I have a question regarding changing _DSM to XDSM. In a couple of original SSDTs I have XDSM methods. Also there _DSMs in RMNE SSDT and CPU SSDT. Won't it interfere somehow if I change DSDTs _DSM to XDSM? Thank you.

[Guide] Sierra on HP Spectre x360

I have no idea if Macs will have OLED, however googling reveals that Apple works on OLED brightness control, also there are rumours about OLED on MacBooks and upcoming iPhone. As I understand Apple doesn't like how OLED handles color with changing brightness values...
