How to UPclock RX580/RX480 for smooth UI (in 5k)+ clock monitoring

OpenGL Driver Monitor has some metrics that can be added to the monitoring to show GPU clock (under high sierra)

High Sierra 10.13.x compatible USB ethernet adapters

https://www.newertech.com/products/usb3-gbe.php Uses Realtek 8153 chipset and requires no driver installation on High Sierra. Works natively on my Macbook and Hackintosh as plug and play.

[SUCCESS] 5K Resolution with AMD RX580, Dell UP2715K and Sierra 10.12.5

I'm super excited because I finally penciled out the time to install High Sierra and it fixes some major issues with multimonitor and multiple video cards. At least 10.13.5 does. 1. There was always a once per second stutter with multiple monitors attached to more than one video card if...

3 Monitors on Sierra (not High Sierra) with Radeon 7970

You should not set framebuffers in clover or inject ATI when using WhateverGreen.

3 Monitors on Sierra (not High Sierra) with Radeon 7970

Lilu and WhateverGreen usually fix these kinds of issues up properly.

[SOLVED] Sluggish UI perfomance on a 4k display (scaled)

Your 1050Ti is simply a weak card in general or Ableton Live is not particularly well optimized for HiDPI displays. nVidia drivers are rather poorly optimized for macOS so your experience is not surprising.

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

It does seem like physical damage at first, but as far as I can tell it's a weird quirk of the monitor. Leaving the monitor off settles it down within an hour or so. Leaving it off for a day or two also has the same effect. I've learned to simply not let the monitor display in an out of sync...

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

I love my 5K Dell's but it has required some serious tinkering and experimentation to make them work. I too would have a hard time recommending them unless that person really enjoys tinkering. Even then, we never got to a real solution until the lilu.kext author did some reverse engineering of...

[SUCCESS] 5K Resolution with AMD RX580, Dell UP2715K and Sierra 10.12.5

There's an SSDT sample in the WhateverGreen FAQ you can use as a reference. SSDT's are quite complicated but you essentially use RehabMan's patched MaciASL to generate/edit them, and then copy them over to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched. After you understand that piece, it's as simple as adding the...

[SUCCESS] 5K Resolution with AMD RX580, Dell UP2715K and Sierra 10.12.5

WhateverGreen is the way to go for me. It also allows me to inject CFG_USE_AGDC via an SSDT, which means one less edit to perform on every OS upgrade.

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Had some time to follow up on this and can confirm copying the following params are what fixed the video glitching. PP_MediumStateDownHysteresisTimeOut PP_SISLANDSMediumStateHysteresisDown Based on the naming of the params, the glitches are probably caused by the video card switching to a...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Some combination of flags in AMD7000Controller.kext may have fixed my video playback glitching issues. I simply copied over some of the CFG and PP flags that were set in the MacPro framebuffers (Kani,Ikura,Maguro ... I used Kani) into the defaults section. This included...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

I'm encountering some weird glitching that happens during video playback ... relatively repeatable on certain youtube videos and causes horizontal lines to glitch across parts of the screen. Stops immediately if I stop video playback. Oddly I never encountered this prior to the WhateverGreen...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Until Apple supports multi stream transport monitors on more than one video card, I can't upgrade yet. It looks like the Radeon WX 9100 will be 6 DisplayPort, but it also will probably cost 2000 dollars or thereabouts :P. Hopefully the design of the new Mac Pro gets them to support this...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

After more experimenting, I have my FirePro W9000 working as the primary graphics card driving triple Dell UP2715K's and the Radeon HD 7970 as the secondary, functioning purely as an offline renderer / accelerator. IGPU is completely disabled in the BIOS. Aside from the 5K tweaks I've...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Some more followup about WhateverGreen ... I added a Radeon 7970 onto my FirePro W9000 as a possible secondary card for offline rendering acceleration (no displays atached). This made my primary card go black on boot. I can live with the one video card for now, but sure would have been nice to...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

WhateverGreen is flippin amazing. I really wish I could be a fly on the wall to understand how the developer figured this all out. I believe it has made my FirePro W9000 more stable with my triple 5K display setup. Before, turning monitors on and off had a small chance of killing some display...

Vega Frontier Edition on High Sierra

Yes, I mean without the IGPU which is what the original poster is doing. I can get my Tahiti/Pitcairn based cards to work just fine as the only GPU ... the problem comes with sleep / wake.
