What's not working? I had issues with DisplayPort not working but HDMI did from the same video card. Final Cut Pro and Compressor were unable to export anything without completely locking up the computer. None of the on board audio worked, on board WiFi did not work and I could only get one...
Woah. I got it to work running MacOS Mojave 10.14.0 on a 2.5" SATA SSD!!! I haven't been able to test all the ports yet. So far the top ethernet port is working but the bottom is not. The built in audio is not working but my audio device is showing up over USB which is a Behringer UMC404HD...
Well we are at the exact same spot. Tonight I got it to boot off the macOS 10.3.6 installer, formatted my SSD and began installing macOS. After the first reboot on the SSD I get the logo of a circle with a cross through it.
I haven’t been able to get it to run macOS yet. Sadly I’ve been running Fedora Linux on it for 6 months. Maybe I’ll give it another shot this week with Mojave.
I built the PC below in hopes of making it a Hackintosh. Sadly I can't get macOS installed. I am trying with 10.3.3 High Sierra. I started with the default UniBeast and get about 10% through the progress bar with the Apple icon or the Apple icon turns into a cancel sign. I've tried...
I’ll still come back to building this at some point but I bought a Intel NUC to hold me over until then. Only took 90 minutes to install the latest BIOS and have a working macOS 10.13.2!

It's currently on hold until at least February 2018. I couldn't find the motherboard anywhere online. Amazon and NewEgg do not carry it. I went to two MicroCenter stores and they can't even special order it. I contacted Gigabyte but they said it was on backorder and the end of December 2017...
Yah that's what Gigabyte support said. You have to have a TH Header on the motherboard to add one of the cards to it. So it's pretty simple to narrow down the list of boards that can support Thunderbolt even if they don't have the USB-C type ports built into the board.
Yup that looks like it's gonna work. After doing all this research though I think I'm just going to take the plunge to this motherboard:
Gigabyte X299 DESIGNARE EX (rev. 1.0)

I'm going to return the processor and get this one...
....I just don't understand how after the Touch Bar MacBook Pro came out with only 4 x Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C ports that the entire product line wasn't updated within say 3 months to the same thing.
I don't have any idea about that. I built my Hackintosh in the summer of 2016 with the sole purpose of using Thunderbolt 3. The Mac Pro ports have not been updated since 2013 and still does not have Thunderbolt 3.
This was the official reply from ASUS:
The TUF Z370-PRO GAMING is not compatible with the Thunderbolt EX3 as there is no Thunderbolt header from the TUF motherboard. As for the list of compatible motherboards for the Thunderbolt EX 3, you can check the link below for more information...
I have that motherboard. That’s why I started this thread. That board doesn’t support 8th gen which is what this processor is. I was hoping just to do a simple upgrade to my existing Hackintosh and now I’ve changed that project to a whole brand new Hackintosh but it’s looking rather hard to...
I just picked up an 8th generation Intel i7-8700K processor that's LGA1151. I was hoping to swap out the processor on my current Hackintosh but that only supports 7th generation. So I guess I'm stuck building a new Hackintosh.
The only motherboard I can find after too many hours of research...
I still don't have Thunderbolt 3 working on my Gigabyte Z170X-UD5-TH motherboard but thanks to this thread I did get my M.2 drive working!
