Is there a list of these shiki settings and what they do? I only have -shikigva as far as I can see.
Also as an aside, could these problems be related to SMBIOS? I'm using iMac17,1 myself.
2.5GT/s on x16???
Could this rather than being a problem w/ the NV drivers, be a Hac .kext issue? Lilu or NvidiaGraphicsFixup etc...?
P.S. toggling SIP does not seem to have fixed anything in the long run although it seemed to cure certain Safari issues at the time. :\
I dunno man, I'm using a vanilla install.
The change happened before 10.13.2 update, so I can rule that out as a cause, and it persists now. It's not a complete fix, but a bunch of things have become unbroken since I switched on SIP.
1070 here on 10.13.2.
Something I noticed when I was doing the .2 update - when I turned SIP on, my performance issue seemed to largely go away!
Give that a try and see if it helps you at all.
Does the 'verified' account thing still matter? On Apple's AppleID page, I couldn't see anywhere where it said 'verified' even though I do have a CC associated w/ my account.
Three possibly dumb questions, if y'all don't mind putting up with me:
A) Is it guaranteed that having multiple drives plugged in will screw w/ Windows 10 install? My board has one of the M.2 on the rear where it's inaccessible, and I'm not sure yet if I can disable the M.2 slots in the UEFI...
That's pretty neat.
But if we're being real here, fanless is not the only way to be silent - my build is essentially silent w/ 3 case fans + CPU fan + dual GPU fans, and when I say silent, I mean that whatever noise it makes is (at idle/low-mid load) below the noise floor.
If it's quieter than...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the idea to find the system definition that most closely matches the PC you've built? In that case, what is it that would make MacPro3,1 be a better match for a Skylake system (for example) than iMac17,1 ?
I have a similar issue, except without the legacy issue. I have a win7 and El Cap dual boot @ UEFI. What's my process for updating to Sierra w/o losing any data or screwing up my boot loader?
My only question, which I'm sure will be answered in a guide at some point is - how does this work w/ dual boots? Will an upgrade from MAS wipe my partitions or anything else? What is there to be careful of in my situation?
I appreciate the reply, either way!
Eagerly awaiting some updates w/ Sierra so I can see if that fixes anything glaring.
Does changing a system definition create any big hassles?
Hi all,
I guess it's a fairly simple question, although I feel like the answer may not be simple.
What is the significance of the System Definition, and how can it affect an install? I'm currently using Mac Pro3,1 and pretty much everything is working except for my 1070 (running...
