    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Apparently WhateverGreen 1.3.8 is out meanwhile. The Changelog does not mention anything related directly, but I'm not really familiar with its boot arguments and properties.

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

There's some truth in that. It was quite a dark journey without WhateverGreen, as far as the display is concerned. HDMI was brave enough to shed some light. Yet, when the machine slept and then waked, it hung itself. I for sure now know I wouldn't want to do it without WhateverGreen, but maybe...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

After a few more tries, I'm sure it's not a (pure) USB issue. When the machine comes back from sleep, I can move the mouse cursor around for a few seconds, and then the whole machine freezes until reset (clock is stuck etc.). So it seems like something related to waking from sleep is different...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

After updating to efi-clover-r5107-z390g-catalina-zip and Catalina 10.15.4 (19E266), when waking from sleep USB devices apparently don't work anymore (can't enter password, have to reset). It worked perfectly fine with the previous EFI on 10.15.3; do you have any idea what that could be about?

Thanks, that list is really helpful. For me, trivially, it was hibernatemode, which somehow went back to 3 instead of 0. This did not happen immediately after upgrading to Mojave, but some unknown time later. pmset'ting it back to 0 solved my problem - cheers!

That works, as far as RX580 output during boot is concerned - thanks! :-) Still no luck with sleep, though.

No, I still have IGPU disabled in BIOS... when I enable it, the monitor (connected to the RX580) stays black... neither the BIOS startup message, nor Clover, nor MacOS are shown through the RX580 with IGPU enabled. :-/

Video is working fine through the RX580's first DisplayPort. There is only a single monitor, and nothing is connected to the mainboard's HDMI or DP ports. Not overclocked. It's a 750W power supply. I have no idea whether sleep works in Windows... I don't have that OS. :-) Again, sleep worked...

I deleted those three, rebooted, and tried sleep again. It still is a complete reboot on wake-up. :-(

    I'm using exactly your EFI folder, with precisely those 3 items in config.plist changed on each update. My /Library/Extensions contains: ACS6x.kext ATTOCelerityFC8.kext ATTOExpressSASHBA2.kext ATTOExpressSASRAID2.kext AppleIntelE1000e.kext ArcMSR.kext CalDigitHDProDrv.kext FakeSMC.kext...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I've updated to the latest BIOS and EFI 4.4.4. Two problems: - I had do disable iGPU / multi support in BIOS, otherwise any graphics output would only be through the iGPU and never my RX580. - Sleep does not work anymore. The system goes to sleep just fine, but when waking the machine up, it...

Did this build use CodecCommander before? I can't find it in the EFI ZIPs anymore. With AppleALC 1.2.6, I've lost audio after sleep, too. Any idea what else might cause this? Is 20170501 still current on CodecCommander?

While waiting for 'nuff money to rain down from the sky to acquire a Vega 56, I tried the new NvidiaGraphicsFixup with my 970. I can go all but Torvalds on Nvidia. Now the UI is, arguably, indeed smoother, BUT my CUDA performance is down to ~ 5% (one twentieth!!) of what I had before. So well...

Well, I meanwhile can confirm to have the same issue with a 970 on .104 drivers; just at a much slower rate than with my 1070. Almost a week without a forced reboot, but, oh boy, that sucks. I really wonder what's wrong here and how others can keep a good uptime when using Nvidia drivers. Guess...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I don't have the creeping slowness & reboot issue with the 1070 under Windows 10. So the hardware seems to be fine. Using a 970 with .104 drivers in this build seems to work OK so far. I'm somewhat confident that the Nvidia drivers are foobar for 1070s currently. Still, I'm getting a serious...

I love this build and @pastrychef updating the EFI ZIPs is very much appreciated! However, the nVidia drivers are giving me severe issues with a 1070 (8 GB): I'm back to .104, but the system will reboot without any warning every now and then, depending on how GPU usage accumulates...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

What do I need to change to boot this build using the internal GPU? Everything works fine with a 1080 hooked up via DisplayPort. But when I connect the DP cable to the mainboard's DP port, I get into a reboot loop, always shortly before I'd expect the desktop to show. BIOS etc. is set up...
