@Jamesbond007 with similar pricing to the gigabyte I can also go with a MSI Z390-A PRO... would it be better? I heard that gigabyte motherboard are very reliable
hellofolks,
I built my rig following @Stork great guide on installing macos on it (Golden build) and it worked fine for a couple of years.
Now the MB is dying (unexpected reboot, ethernet not working anymore, under linux multiple PCIE errors messages, etc)... uluckly I don't have the budget to...
did anyone succeded with catalina on EliteBook 820 G1 and is willing to share his EFI?
I'm running fine with Mojave but I heard about issues with Catalina installation and newest clover
My bad. Volume on my monitor can only be controlled via OSD menu, and it was set to zero. :(
Now I increased it, and it is working. :)
Thank you Simon & Pastrychef for support!
hello, it might be offtopic by I dare to ask anyhow. :)
I have same hw setup as Stork, running macos 10.14.6 with latest update and kext (moved under clover).
Everything is running fine including audio via line out, but I'd like to have displayport audio from my RX580 into my monitor LG 27UD59...
hello, I updated clover as suggested to 5103, upgraded macos to 10.14.6 and applied latest apple updates fo that release and everything was fine...
Than I checked latest available versions of kext and discovered that my (working) VoodooPS2Controller.kext was not updated and I downloaded 2.1.2...
BUMP
sorry to bother... can anyone confirm if it is required / good to update @RehabMan Clover with latest standard clover (v 5103) before updating to 10.14.6 ?
And if it is ok to update to Catalina after that...
thanks a lot! :)
I'm using a different device (generic cinese USB Wifi dongle) but is working fine as soon as I plug it in..

Hello everybody,
I followed this guide for my Elitebook 820 G1 which is currently running fine macos 10.14.4 with Clover 4920.
I updated all the kext to latest versions and moved them under Clover (instead of /L/E) as I undestood it is a recommended practice for future releases of Catalina...
Thank you. I'm reading those guides but they seems to me still a bit complex... I'll keep reading :)

It might be a little bit off-topic... if so, pls forgive me.
I'd like to test opencore on my system (of course based on ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X + ADM RX 580) to see if it is any better than my current working Clover.. is there any guide for our system?
thanks in advance!
