Hm... the build signature tool doesn't have an option for my hardware. When I select Z690 the only option I get is "Asus". There's no Gigabyte or "Other" in the dropdown. But fwiw my regular signature actually shows the correct MB model.
Yes downloading the installer is certainly an option...
Ok here's one problem with my z690 setup, it's still on 13.3.1(a) and wouldn't pick up any new Software Updates. No errors and nothing obvious in the system logs. SIP shows enabled.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Yup, 128Gb works fine for me. 4xCMK64GX4M2D3600C18
The layout is kinda tight there so make sure you get a slim CPU cooler if you plan to have 4 memory modules. I have Noctua NH-U12S Redux and it fits fine.
In an embarrassing turn of events I found that my mobo does have a DP port, two of them in fact. They are combined with USB-C and I happened to have a USB-C hub with a DP adapter which works with any of the above framebuffers even without patching.
I tried various patches to make HDMI work but...
Welp... I guess I'm SOL with iMac18,2.
Any hope for getting it on iMac18.1? No color issues there but also haven't been able to get the acceleration working.
So I did some more experimentation and found that using iMac18,2 SMBIOS and ig-platform-id=00001259 and deviceid=1250000 actually get me 1536Mb and full acceleration! Yay! There's just one tiny problem - the colors are... all borked. I don't even know how to describe it, there's a weird blue-ish...
So this one results in black screen. Removing device-id works but then no accel/vram.
I just tried with the above with what @pastrychef suggest above but it didn't seem to make any difference.
I tried some but not sure if I tried the right one. For example, using device-id=12590000 with...
Running out of ideas with this one and getting to a point where I could use help from more experienced Hack builders.
Problem: Fresh install of Ventura, boots up fine with HD530 iGPU but can't get acceleration to work and VRAM shows 18Mb. VDADecoderChecker shows error -12473. The Amazon Prime...
Ok so I feel I'm missing something really obvious, so before I restore the disk images let me ask this first.
I had 10.15.7 Catalina with Clover 5114 running fine for a long time and now I decided it's time to upgrade to Monterey. The upgrade thread suggested latest Clover is needed so I start...
HDMI definitely did not work but I was able to finally get it to boot with acceleration via DP. Here's what I did since I last posted:
Booted into single user mode and removed old Multibeast kexts from /L/E
Updated Clover to 5114
Incidentally stupid Windows 10 update wiped my Clover UEFI boot...
I'm hitting a wall wth Catalina upgrade. I have a Sapphire Nitro+ RX590 that worked just fine with 10.14 but can't figure out the black screen after 10.15.4 upgrade.
What I have tried so far:
Upgraded Clover to 5112, also tried Multibeast 12.1.0 Catalina Edition (that downgraded Clover to...
