Hi, I had the same problem with a gigabyte mo. The only solution for me was change the fan conector from cpu1 to opt1 Now works perfect in Sierra and in Windows 10

Thanks, I have also an unsupported nvidia card and the glitch continues with the fix. I applied the fix with the nvidia card disconnected and works. Then I connected the card a still works!!!

I pluged the fan in CPU_FAN and is well connected, It have only one option. I have free CPU_OPT, SYS_FAN, SYS_FAN2 and SYS_FAN3. If I connect the fant to CPU_OPT then works perfectly. The strange thing is that in Windows works fine in CPU_FAN

Thanks for the reply. In my bios I have the silent option active but the fan don't change, It is always in 1500. In windows 10 the fan are quiet, It is controled by an app that come with the Mobo. In MacOS I cannot control the fan with HWMonitor, Macs Fan Control or similar.

Hey. I have the gigabyte z170x gaming-3 and I had the same problem. I fixed it cheking FixHDA in Clover configurator, inside Acpi. I have a question. My fan is always in 1500 RPM and in HWMonitor I can't change it. Can you help me? Thanks
