Good news! Looks like the official Web Driver for 17G4015 was just released. https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/387/WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.113.pkg
EDIT: Just installed it and it works great. No patch needed!
Same thing just happened to me. I rebooted my machine and then WHAM! all of a sudden it was installing updates that I didn't want. Ran the patch, didn't work for me. Then I decided to manually uninstall the driver, reboot, and install the patch again. It worked! I've got the GTX 1080. That patch...
I would switch back to buying Macs from Apple if (and only if) they release a truly modular Mac Pro. One that can be customized with PCI-e cards, NVIDIA graphics, and lots of internal storage and RAM capabilities. Basically, I want something like the old 2012 Mac Pro tower, but with new hardware...
Hey friends,
I have found that only a handful of people have this issue (or maybe many people have the issue and simply don't notice it). I have also never found a proper solution. So I'm wondering if you guys are running into the same problem. (And if so, if anyone has figured out a solution)...
Thanks for this awesome guide, @koush! I have a very similar system, and I think I'll give this a try! Are there any adjustments I would need to make for Sierra 10.12.4?
Also, I have the 6850K CPU. Since it's a 6 core, does that mean my IOCPUNumber would be 11? I just want to make sure I'm...
This is what I'm seeing in System Profiler....
Also, I'm starting to wonder if the issue I'm having is actually just in Chrome. Maybe my hackintosh is outputting full range to my monitor. But for some reason Chrome displays YouTube videos incorrectly.
Here's a screenshot of a YouTube video...
It doesn't appear to be defaulting to full range over DisplayPort. I also have no way of knowing whether my GPU is outputting 8-bit or 10-bit signals to my monitor. In Windows, there is the NVIDIA Control Panel, and I get these options:
It would be really nice to have these options in macOS too.
Turns out my GTX 1080 isn't outputting ‘Full Range RGB 0-255’ color but is instead outputting ‘Limited Range RGB 16-235’ color. Anyone have any idea for how to fix this in macOS?? There's a workaround for Windows, but I can't find anything for macOS...
I'm having this problem right now with DisplayPort. I'm getting limited range color in macOS. I had the same issue in Windows, but in Windows you can just toggle the setting to full.

GTX 1080 is working great on my machine except for this: In Google Chrome, YouTube videos look really washed out. It's really bizarre. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know of a fix?
Here's a screenshot. Left is Chrome, right is Safari. It's subtle, but it's still really annoying. Chrome...
@Stork,
Thank you. Good point. I had written my specs in an earlier post, but I guess it makes more sense/is more convenient to have it all in my profile. I just updated my profile. Thanks!
@thisisanid,
I reinstalled macOS, and this time I haven't installed any drivers via MultiBeast. The...
Dang it. I just messed up my USB ports by accident. I was trying to get the USB ports to work that are on the front of my case, so I installed the "3rd Party USB 3.0," "7/8/9 Series USB Support," and "Increase Max Port Limit" drivers with MultiBeast. But then when I rebooted my computer, none of...
Using a different USB port worked! Thanks for that suggestion! I now have Sierra 12.4 loaded and the webdriver is working perfectly!
However, I can't get audio to work. Did you do anything special to get audio working with the X99P-SLI? I've been looking at some audio guides, but I'm having a...
Hey, thanks so much for your help. I've been trying to get this to work all night, but haven't had any success. Here's what's been happening:
I disabled vt-d and enabled ECHI/XCHI handoff in my BIOS.
I made my bootable USB drive with Sierra 12.4 and then installed Clover. I used your EFI and...
I'm trying to install Sierra 12.4 right now on this same motherboard, but am having no luck. I'm a first time hackintosher too... Would anyone mind sharing with me their BIOS settings and Clover configurations? Possibly EFI folder? I'm just trying to figure this out.... Thanks!
Great! I will try this tonight. Thank you!
One more question: Since the GTX 1080 is my only GPU, will I have problems? Can I still boot into Sierra without the NVIDIA webdriver installed, and then just install the driver after it's booted? Or how does that work? Also, what are your BIOS...
