    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

It's in the EFI.zip on the first post of this thread.

    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

Probably the same reasons most people quit ... having to manually update and check each major/minor upgrade, feeling I didn't have a legitimate system, the F12 problem annoyed me (too low level a solution), the feeling that my system wasn't fully optimised. It's true, I was lucky to build a...

    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

I have Win10 on the other disk and have been using that. Please don't judge me. If I bought a Mac it'd be a mini and I might yet do it, but the hardware I have now is just fine. Cheers!

    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

Hello world. Sorry I have moved away from Hackintosh, towards the enemy. Thanks so much to @b166ar and @inarush and many others for their outstanding support and encouragement. I greatly appreciated it. This is a wonderful community. I'm sure I'll get sick of the opposition and come running...

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

Because it doesn't need to, apparently. But it needs to release 10.14 drivers or it loses money & goodwill. Incorrect analogy. We're talking about components that require integration with the host system not chunks of rubber. Choose a better analogy, maybe Ford's ECU (MacOS) and an EFI...

Are you sure? We're talking about a company whose core business is graphics cards whose market cap is 115 US Billion which is 4xAMD's. AMD can write drivers for Mojave but your guess is that Nvidia cannot? Seems to me the eGpu business is huge and Nvidia would not want to lose that. So the cost...

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

Agree. When I said "because they can ... prevent installation" I didn't mean they actually do ... it was more like they have the power to do various things, including legal actions which I assume they haven't taken either. Fair comment. I can't quite see why Nvidia would fail to secure...

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

Because if a company tells you it does not want your hardware in their system (apparently for screw-ups in the past), and they are the world's richest company, and their software can prevent installation of yours, and your lawyers tell you you can't make them, you pretty much have no choice...

@pastrychef you didn't answer my question. You're saying Nvidia is lying on its corporate website. Why do you think that is? Seems obvious to me that Apple told them to stop after HS and, after weighing up the chances of a legal challenge etc etc, Nvidia complied. How else to explain?

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

@pastrychef this article from Apple Insider disagrees with you and puts the blame fully on Apple. The writers claim to have spoken to "several dozen" Apple devs. Their logic makes sense to me & was what I was thinking. Apple is preventing Nvidia from releasing drivers after HS. Your logic...

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

I just reported what I found on Nvidia's website. It seems consistent with their actions and it implies Apple has enough influence to stop them releasing drivers. Whether it is certification (which in the case of Windows, MS can withhold and that makes selling the product as Windows compatible...

Thanks for posting the clips. The board looks pretty good. But as you say above, we need the drivers. Shame. On a personal opinion, I don't like how the guy has his build inside a desk drawer. Seems not optimum air flow. I'd like to see stats over time. But okay, he says it's good. Fair enough.

100 % Passive cooled Custom Mac

According to Nvida's website, "Apple fully controls drivers for Mac OS. Unfortunately, NVIDIA currently cannot release a driver unless it is approved by Apple." Apple in the past probably looked the other way when Nvidia released Mac drivers. It's possible they recently "reminded" Nvidia of...

    [Success] b1's "Mac Mini Killer" with macOS Mojave: i7-8700 | Gigabyte Z370N | RX560 | 16GB RAM

Sorry to jump in, but this question is interesting to me too ... There's a big debate about whether to have any Hack kexts in LE or all in Others (as you did). One side (scroll down to "Where should I install 3rd Party Kexts ?"). Another side (scroll down to "Methodology" and "The Great Kext...

    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

Thanks for this. Seems you have everything turned off, so only your display sleeps ... and the machine stays awake? I have had a more aggressive sleep setup and it has worked right up to F12. I like the system sleeping and the LED going off. It takes a couple of seconds to wake, but it's fine...

    [Guide] Fanless mini Mojave: i5-8600 | Gigabyte Z370N WiFi | Intel HD630

So I had a look at your Essentials and I can't see anything wrong. Your config is the same as mine. You have some more kexts in LE but they don't seem relevant to the problem AFAIK. My monitor works fine, but after following B1's link ... I can see that the current framebuffer properties...

Here it is, thanks B1. I had a look in case, but because I haven't touched it since I built the machine under Mojave and sleep/wake has always worked, I discounted it.

You're right not to hurry. Also if you're running B1's build probably the discrete gpu means different sleep/wake behaviour. For me on igpu, I can't bear when it won't wake. We shall see.

I'm wondering if you have updated BIOS to F12? I want back to F12 a couple of days ago, but today I had another failure to wake from deep sleep (meaning system light off) and so I've gone back to F10. I'll sit and see how that performs, but previously it never failed to wake.
