Follow-up on my build
Finally got that motherboard and CPU :
- ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE
- i7 6700T
(+ PSU/SSD/16GB DDR4)
And everything is working fine, got my 4K TV up and running at 60Hz with Audio from the DisplayPort with a DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter.

So yes this could be done
And Used parts aren't an issue at all!
The biggest difference from your build and the one in the guide linked is the GPU, you'll need what's...
What software will you use exactly ?
The real benefits from the i7 are the 8 threads (4 on a i5).
For CAD i'd say take the best CPU you can afford. i7 would be recommended.
For the RAM, 16 Go of DDR4/2400 should be fine, take only 2 sticks so you can easily upgrade to 32 if needed.
Thanks for your answers!
I still can get the CPU only and if I somehow cant make it work, get a discrete GPU afterwards.
Regarding the Audio through DP ? Is it working natively ? not at all ? discrete GPU required ?
Anyway I thing at this point it's safer to wait for the official release of...
Good to hear
Did you do anything to "fix" that ? Or what it just working ?
(I'm building my second hackintosh with 4K@60Hz on DP in mind so I'm gathering all the informations I can :D)
You only have 4K@30Hz with the DisplayPort ?
You should be able to get 60Hz

Hi,
I'm building my second hackintosh, and I'd like to know if there's an easy(-iest ;)) road to use a 4K TV @ 60hz, with audio. The TV only have HDMI inputs and I'd like to keep the system power consumption minimal. I don't need a powerfull GPU (no games or GPU-intensive tasks).
With a build...
