If you opened your config.plist file with Clover Configurator and you don't see anything related to verbose in the Boot section or anywhere else, then I don't know.
Have you added the Clover boot argument "agdpmod=pikera" and have you used the right config plist file? (He uploaded two, one for iGPU and one for dGPU)
The example in the opening post tells you to create an aml file like this:
In your case you would indeed save it to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin/SSDT-DiscreteSpoof.aml (I don't think the name of the file matters). Now it has been a while since I used this method myself but it did work for me.
It is possible. The solution is here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-window-server-service-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/page-33#post-1863860
I bought this ASRock motherboard because of this amazing guide, so I want to thank you very much for your incredible work! Without it, I would have bought a regular ATX board by Gigabyte but I've had one of those for many years so I'm glad I can finally try something different.
Looking at the...
Thanks, that worked and I was able to delete SSDT.aml from EFI.
I tried the Clover settings as outlined over here but it still won't work, so I'll just do without an SSDT file for now.
Damn, I followed the guide but now El Capitan boots into a black screen. I had a working Clover setup which was setup to generate P-states without a custom SSDT. I guess I had to change Clover settings after putting my generated SSDT.aml on the Clover partition. Is there any way to delete the...
I used this guide to upgrade to El Capitan: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-guides/172107-direct-update-os-x-el-capitan-using-clover.html
Had to disable 'wake on lan' in bios, otherwise after turning the PC off, it would turn itself back on immediately. Otherwise, it seems to be...
I think this may have been an iStat Menus problem. I disabled 'Monitor S.M.A.R.T. Disks' under the 'Stats' menu item, and it seems to have helped so far.
So I installed Yosemite 10.10.2 on my system following this guide with similar specs. It's my first Clover install and it is running pretty well, however my hard disks are not spinning down when idle, which is causing a lot of unnecessary noise and heat (they are 60 degrees celsius right now!)...
Have you even tried 2 monitors with your 780 on 10.9.3? I'm on 10.9.3 and am hooked up to a 2560x1600 monitor and a 1080p TV, with no freezing. Updating to 10.9.4 is not high on my priority list after reading your comments ;)
I'm not water cooled so your system is probably even more silent than my air cooled system, so I'm surprised you don't hear a difference. I do my comparing late at night when it is absolutely silent indoors, so maybe that makes a difference? During the day it would be hard for me to notice any...
I bought a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X and the fans don't spin at 100% in Mountain Lion or Mavericks. They do spin a little harder than when the card is idle under Windows, thus making slightly more noise and presumably using more power.
So I went ahead and bought a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x and installed it in my new Mavericks installation. The card's fans are indeed not spinning at 100%, fortunately. They do spin a little harder than when the card is idling in Windows, making slightly more noise in OS X. I have a very silent...
I currently use my integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics for OS X, but would like to install an Ati 290 for gaming under Windows. The 290 is not supported, and I have read some reports that this means its fans will run at 100% all the time and it will probably be running at full power usage as well...
I was just wondering about your 290x, do the fans spin at 100% all the time because there is no driver? I've read about this unfortunate behavior when installing an unsupported card. I would like to install an Ati 290 to use for Windows only and use the integrated Intel 4000 GPU for OS X, but if...
