    Drive permissions.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will have to do a backup and reformat the drive at some point. The intention of formatting the drive to exFAT was that if my machine broke I could connect it to another machine and do work, because I could read/write on both Win and macOS. I do not swap them...

    Drive permissions.

So recently I discovered that my second drive that I have in my hackintosh was not set up correctly. I use a SSD for the system and a HDD for almost everything else (documents etc.). The HDD is exFAT formatted, because if needed I could recover files from a windows machine. The SSD is not APFS...

How to enable 'Kaby Lake' Intel 6xx Graphics (10.12.6+)

Tried that too, always stuck on gIOScreenLockstate 3 or fails to load iGFX firmware and does infinity retries to load it. I can only boot with my RX560. Strange thing is that when I try to boot with -x (safemode) the iGFX works with full acceleration.

How to enable 'Kaby Lake' Intel 6xx Graphics (10.12.6+)

First of all I want to say thanks to all you people here at tonymacx86 for your work. You are amazing guys. I have a problem with getting igfx to work. I did a clean install of High Sierra (10.13.1) on a new machine. I was able to get to the install with only -v boot argument, but when it...

Kaby Lake ATX build (possibly w/o dedicated GPU)

Then you'd be better with a dGPU like a AMD RX460/560 or Nvidia 1060 in my opinion. I didn't say you don't need one, it depends on your needs. I see you want to run 4K video it is possible on iGFX, but not recommended. You will be better with a dGPU. During installation you can't use Nvidia...

Kaby Lake ATX build (possibly w/o dedicated GPU)

I didn't mean to offend you with my reply. The thing is that nobody is born with knowledge. But sometimes you've got to search for it. To answer your question, like I said above, it depends on what you plan to use your machine for. If you are going to do video editing/gaming or 4k setups you...

Kaby Lake ATX build (possibly w/o dedicated GPU)

It really depends on what you are going to use it for. Check the buyer's guide to see what components are supported and compatible. The answers are not scattered "everywhere". Just search and look through the forum, everything is already written. I've already found everything I need.

Kaby Lake ATX build (possibly w/o dedicated GPU)

Hello, I want to build my first hackintosh machine. In the last 6 months I've gone through various possible configurations but I've been financially set back several times, so I never got around to building it. It will not be my first hackintosh, but it is the first machine built purposely for...

    New build compatibility concerns.

Thanks for your reply. ExFAT really seems like the easiest approach to the problem.

    New build compatibility concerns.

Hello, I am planning on building a new machine that I want to use mainly for audio production (Logic Pro X; Ableton Live) and as a general daily runner. I've done 2 machines in the past that are running to this day (mavericks and el capitan) but they were not builds intended to be hackintosh...
