If anyone is following this, I managed to get some access on Terminal using a "bridge adapter", routing table on host and iptable forwarding on linux guest, but it looks like macOS is not routing DNS requests through. If anyone is versed on the proper way to configure macOS for it, lemme know.

I'm getting "Still waiting for root device" then the prohibited symbol, when booting from the usb stick. I have no USB 2 device to try it, would I be able to boot the installer from the internal hdd? (would take a while to move stuff around, that's why I'm asking first)

wmaldonado, were you able to disable dedicated graphics in bios?

My HP has a 5000 series radeon and it worked out of the box. Only via hdmi though, internal display is still not working. Haven't had time to research about getting it up. I'm running el captain, it even got through an apple update! I'll try sierra when my macbook gets it

It seems that my instability problem happens when I keep the lid closed, the computer will randomly shut down, as if it ran out of power or got too hot, which are not the case. Maybe it's some lid related sensor?

So far we have established that it isn't possible to disable dedicated graphics via dsdt patching. Rehab, you're saying it might be possible to use it as the driver for the built-in display?

Watch out for the cpus=1 flag on boot, it will really keep the processor capped to 1 core through usage. Unfortunately there's basically no options available on BIOS, maybe there's a custom one we could try, but I'm really affraid of going that deep haha

It says it's connected to the graphics card. Fiddled around and didn't seem to find anything about it being fixed, but it is disableable through the device manager, it seems.

Weird... My Keyboard & trackpad worked out of the box with the extra kexts. My internal screen isn't working. I got it to work previously by booting into the installer and going to terminal, going to S/L/E and removing the amd 5000 kext, then rebooting, but it couldn't drive the external display...

I would guess your laptop disk interface isn't recognized by osx, but I'm no expert on this. Check the DSDT patching guide, some fixes apply to most computers

You should format the disk as "OSX Extended (Journaled)" on Disk Util, which shows up on some of the previous screen or is accessible on the menu at the top of the screen
