I've been struggling getting ethernet to work ever since I updated to Sonoma. I used this info with the boot-arg and mini kernel setting but using the AppleIGC.kext.
After these changes Messages.app started working too!
Since installing Sonoma I cannot get Handbrake to process any files --...
I now have a semi-working system running 11.2.1. I created a new USB installer with the OC 0.6.5 EFI folder from this post and put the USB installer in the red USB port.
I do have some issues that I'm hoping someone can help with.
I have working audio (when I select "Internal Speakers" sound...
I tried all of the USB ports on the back of the computer and I still could not get the installer to run. I'll recreate the installer tonight and try with a fresh USB key and see how that goes.
Yes, I followed the instructions on building the Big Sur beta USB installer.
I did not know about the USB port being an issue. I'll test the other ports. I was using the ports on the front of the case.
Thank you for the suggestions!
After adding -v to the boot args the only output I was able to capture is in the attached photo. The messages appear shortly after selecting to "Install Big Sur" and the computer reboots after displaying the errors.
I tried the OC 0.60 and after I select "Install" I get the Apple logo then the install fails with a startup error. The icon is the circle with a slash through it.
As I am new to OC should I have an SMBIOS.plist somewhere? Which Mac model should it be based on? Should the values be stored in the...
I have this same board and a Sapphire RX580 video card. I can make the installer USB with OC 0.6.5 and your EFI folder and I can boot to the graphical menu. When I choose "Install macOS Big Sur" I get the Apple logo and the machine reboots after a few seconds. Then it's in a loop. The installer...
After upgrading to Mojave from 10.13 (using Software Update) I noticed I could not QuickLook certain file types anymore. I read that enabling iGFX was the easiest solution. Well, after doing this my build has had an issue with hard freezes.
The freeze usually happens in Safari when I hit a page...
FWIW, I have two builds one with the EP45-UD3P and another with an EP45-UD3L. I was able to get audio working on the UD3L by following the guide. I did the same things on the UD3P and no go. I examined the two DSDT's side by side and the edits looked the same. Whatever the error is I couldn't...
Well, I gave up trying to get the built in audio to work and just bought one of these:

For a mere $7 my audio problems are solved.
I've been trying different DSDT's. The one attached here has the layout-id set per instructions. When I install this and reboot and then try to verify the audio in IORegistryExplorer.app the layout-id is still listed as "B".
I'm new to editing DSDTs and without any docs available (none that I...
I have an EP45-UD3P board and lost audio with the update to 10.8.5. I am using a DSDT and I've tried all the recommendations at the start of this thread.
I'm using Multibeast 5.5.2. I have v1.6 of the board. I'm attaching my DSDT and IOReg in the hope that someone can see my mistake.
I'm seeing the same issue on an EP45-UD3P. The internal SATA blu-ray works for everything except with DVDPlayer.app. I get an error -70012. Everything worked great under 10.6.x and 10.7.x. I haven't found a working solution yet.
I needed to add the PCIRootUID=1 fix to my Kernel Flags to get the App Store to work. I have two systems using Gigabyte EP45 motherboards. I had to do this on both systems. Once I added this flag and rebooted everything worked perfectly with the App Store. I did not have to delete the...
