I got HDMI audio working with this kext but with one minor nagging issue .MKV files only play the background music but no dialogue when the embedded audio is 5.1. Otherwise great and thanks!!

Updated via App Store and all OK except for no HDMI audio. (HDMIaudio.kext was working fine on 10.13.3) Any ideas please?

I had exactly the same problem. I got it to work by removing my GPU (GeForce GT710) and installing the update using on-board graphics. Replaced the GPU and all good.

Update failed, but I eventually got it to work by removing the GeForce GT710, running the update using onboard graphics and replacing the card. Everything working as it should.

Copied kext to folder, rebooted and it worked, very happy, nice and easy. Thanks. (High Sierra 10.13.2 + GeForce GT710 2GB)

I am looking in the USB installer

all that is in that folder is boot.efi

All that is in that folder on the installer USB is boot.efi

I have an iMac. Running High Sierra 10.13.2

The other tab "External" is "Boot OS X Install from Install macOS High Sierra" if I click that it starts the install process again from scratch!
