After a couple of other attempts, I have finally succesfully installed El Capitan on the old motherboard. Everything seems to be working alright (For the moment then...). I had to re-format the install USB and re-use unibeast to put back the El Capitan install and that did the trick.
Now before...
I just updated my hardware profile as I was able to add some extra stuff. I tried a couple of other commands such as arch=i386 and trying to re-use that npci=0x3000 command, but again it failed after my numerous attempts. Either the MB is way too old for this or I need more RAM as I currently am...
Unfortunately the hardware isn't available + Am not able to add more builds to my profile unfortunately. The thing is, I did add the specs at the beginning of my post so. It's just another build that's all.
Oh sorry, I may have forgot to mention the specs properly. The motherboard you posted about is from my main PC. The one I am on about is the ASUS P5LD2-SE. Again sorry for the confusion.
Well since my motherboard dates back from the 'good o'l days' (to be more specific back from 2006), it doesn't support fast boot and secure boot. Though there's this option 'Quick Boot' which I just disabled, but no luck in that. Then we have the Vanderpool Technology (AKA Virtualization), I...
Well I got some good news at least. It's able to load with El Capitan, but it always restarts at the beginning point. I booted into verbose mode and saw something about PCI Configuration. So I used the NPCI=x2000 at first, but that didn't work. Then I put the '0' before the 'x' in the flag, but...
Ah damn... Well I just checked and it doesn't support SSE4 unfortunately. It only goes up to SSE3. Might as well get El Capitan instead. The OS is only just a year or so behind and to be honest, I think it's more stable then the current one in Hackintosh terms.
Hello
I have a problem. I am doing this mini-project of 'reviving' my old computer and using the MacOS operating system for it. Now here's the thing: I know that the motherboard and the CPU are old (see specs down below) but I am using a GT640 as my main GPU and I use an SSD. Basically two new...
I have a bit of a problem. I only have the 10.12.4 version on the stick. I don't have any previous versions unfortunately. Is there another way that I can fall back to 10.12.3 or do I have to wait for the next update?
Well I am having system freezes as well for some reason after a while. Though it takes about 1-2 hours for that to happen. I can boot back normally into the OS without any problems. Have you got any idea/fixes for these freezes by any chance?
Also, how can you downgrade back to 10.12.3?
Flashing my GPU with a non-official firmware is out of the question for me since I won't attempt to brick my GPU in case something goes wrong in the process.
I still have an older GPU laying around, which is the ASUS GT640 (Link: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/GT6402GD3/)
However, that...
This is the current GPU model I got right now. https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/N750-2GD5OC.html#hero-overview.
It's a bit strange that it doesn't work now, because back in early September I already had a setup going on with HDMI fully working. But that was also the time when 10.12.3 wasn't...
When I am on VGA, the card works just fine as I mentioned earlier and is able to detect the GPU in the menu. You can see it in the picture I uploaded down below. Of course I am unable to get on HDMI since that won't work unless I disable the drivers.
Recently I reinstalled MacOS on my second SSD because my first setup was messing up pretty bad. Installed all the things I needed (including Nvidia Web Drivers) and everything went fine, till I restarted my PC and tried to boot in the system. The screen went blank just at the ending of the...
Hello
I feel completely lost right now. After many tries and fiddling around with the RealtekALC install script, I just keep failing and failing... After I shutdown my PC for the night, the audio devices just dissapear. I don't know why it keeps happening.
My motherboard has got a Realtek ALC...
Hello
So after I have installed my MacOS installation, I noticed my sound didn't work nor did my GPU, even though I used Multibeast for the sound drivers and the Nvidia web driver for the GPU. Now when I tried to reinstall the drivers through Multibeast, an error came up that said the...
Ah alright. Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look into it whenever I have the time or when I actually require to format a drive. I wanted to make sure my NTFS drives work as well in Mac OS X but I managed to fix that problem with 3rd party programs.
Hello
Basically I have an issue with disk utility. Whenever I want to partition a volume on an another drive, it gives me this mediakit error. I have looked over the internet and other people seem to had this issue as well. However, there method to fix it seems rather risky as you are...
Ah, okay. I'll keep that in mind. It will however get rid of my Windows but luckily that's all on the SSD where there ain't much of stuff is on so that's good to know.
