I went ahead and tested it. For the record, it worked flawlessly on my system. No black screen (but I was already using the pikera boot arg) and I followed the idiots guide to setting up iMessage to generate new SMBIOS info. It worked the first time! I did have to redo my USB port setup again...
Hi!
I'm upgrading my hack from High Sierra to Catalina and am wondering about this. If I am understanding the guides right, the new (and presumably only) way to get CPU power management now requires 17,1 right? The solution to the old black screen bug was to use Lilu and that is now the default...
updated and possibly fixed. I used clover configurator to add the whatevergreen boot arg agpdmod=pikera to the config.plist on the efi partition of the unibeast install usb. I’m currently in the installer now! Fingers crossed :)
Hello! I’d like to report a problem with UniBeast:
Unibeast version: 12.1
Unibeast choices: Catalina 10.15.4, UEFI
USB partition scheme: 16 gb flash drive, gpt
hardware as in profile, this was a working high Sierra hack that I am adding a gigabyte windforce oc radeon 5600xt to replace the...
Has anyone successfully done a clean install of Catalina with a navi card? I'm using a 5600XT and am getting a black screen in unibeast. I started a thread here asking for help:

I'm wondering about this too. I'm upgrading my high sierra 1070 hack to a 5600xt and am getting a black screen at unibeast. i haven't found anything in search yet, if you recall some of those threads and want to send them my way i'd appreciate it!
Hello!
When running unibeast for a fresh catalina install i get a black screen. if i run verbose boot it gets through all the text. As I've searched, I've found that most of the black screen info I've found has to do with post install stuff. The suggested solutions are usually updating lilu and...
Hello! I am finally upgrading my High Sierra Nvidia 1070 hack to Catalina with an AMD 5600XT video card. A lot has changed since I froze my hack in time and I’ve read everything that I can to get up to speed on Lilu, Hackintool, etc. I built the UniBeast flash drive and it halts on an APFS line...
I believe you are right! I used this as motivation to finally set up the USB ports properly and remove the 15 port patch altogether as detailed in the Proper USB 15 Port Limit Fix section here:

This is odd, today the drives showed up again. I run a standard user account most of the time, not an admin account. I noticed that diskutil prompted me for an admin password like 10 times yesterday. And now here they are:
While searching the forum I still suspect that properly setting up the...
OK, this is the result:
The external devices are still missing. I think its interesting that they are missing at a hardware level rather than at the logical volume level.
The only other thing that I can think that might be related is that I used to have an fstab file to prevent the external...
Thanks! I'm not really clear where I would try to delete those files from though.
I got a little more info. The external SSD contains a Rescue Drive and a Clone of the main system drive in an encrypted partition. I booted into the Rescue Drive (10.13.2) from clover and opened up disk utility...
Thank you! Unfortunately updating the afps.efi didn't solve this issue. Although I'll be sure to keep doing it with os upgrades. The interesting thing is that the hardware doesn't even show up in Disk Utility or diskutil list.
Any other ideas or steps I can take to provide more info?
Thank you!
The ssd already had apfs partitions on it, and I already have apfs.efi there. However, you bring up a point that I'm unclear on. I think that someplace I saw instructions that when upgrading macOS the apfs.efi in this folder should be manually upgraded? I have never done that and maybe that's...
