TBH it's easier to go over the to OpenCore site and follow their step by step guide to create a OpenCore EFI folder. The docs are really good, and the process to get to boot is pretty painless. I setup on a new SDD, and when I had a bootable image I boot my SSD that was using Clover/Catalina...
Well that was waste of a day (due to OC changes in r5123+ changes)... the problem I had was I had thought I had backed up the EFI directory, but I had only to the 'master' volume. Just took ages to get get a new bootable USB together. Anyway... all good now! I suppose it time to gen-up on the...
Hooray, finally the promise of a desktop that is a worthy successor to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acorn_Archimedes
I owned bought a PowerPC Laptop the year before the Intel annoucement. I got good use out of it, and when finally OS support stopped for it, it was still useable in 2010. I...
Thanks again for such a good write up. I just updated my machine definition to iMacPro1,1 (from iMac14,1) to enable the video codec solution. This seems to have changed the USB enumeration for the mac compatible WiFi card I have installed, so I needed to do the USB process again. All went...
I tried both options and looked to see if the port enumerated differently depending on orientation. I did not see another port number enumerate, so concluded that the port must have an 'internal swicth' so picke 9 as the USB-C Type ie TypeC+Sw.
I did see the same port number in both...
The cable is 5K capable HDMI cable that was supplied with the LG Monitor. It's the only USB-C cable I have that is good for video at this resolution. The others tend to have moments where they will cause 'go to black' on the screen as it looses sync. I am not using it for video for the Mac. I am...
I have seemed to have the opposite. The USB-C connection is to a LG 38WK95C Monitor hub and it presents as a USB2 and USB3 hubs. Without both it does not seem to work. I don't know enough about USB enumeration it seems. But I think that is something if explained would help with certain setups...
@UtterDisbelief Thanks for the excellent guide. I really help me get up to speed on configuring my motherboard to now work as expected.
I did have some trouble getting the USB-C connector working correctly. I finally seem to have some luck with the TypeC+Sw (UsbConnector=9). When testing in SS...
My update is now done. My clover installation on the auto-reboots does not select the correct partition though. I have to select 'Install from Pre-boot' partition and keep selecting it until it gets removed. Not sure how to resolve this problem.
Thanks, that help me get my machine to update. I also used 4937 of Clover. I didn't even make the 'no entry' sign with 5070
BTW: what does this line do? or can you post a link that I read about it. (otherwise I do some googling) thx
I mistakenly attributed this change to an update to use WhateverGreen. It was not the case. I build the building the Teleport application for virtual KVM and there where some issues with it. I was debugging the invisible windows is sets up on you displays and in the process I must have...
I did, its not this https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/gtx970-sometimes-pink-and-scrambled-pictures.155546/
and its not this https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/help-intel-hd-630-pink-screen-on-mojave.261957/
Since one is related to corruption the other is related to CMYK*. Neither are related...
This is driving me nuts as I cannot figure out why, But some images have a pink hue in the background. The snapshot is in Safari and the same view in Chrome and its gone. Its not is all images just some. And its not related the CMYK monitors.
Anybody else experienced this?
Later: Some success in now I do have Optical out working, but still no Line Out/Internal Speakers option
Update: OK. I have Line Out -> c/sub and Line Out -> Rear as marked on the panel working. Internal Speakers -> Line Out does not seem to work... Not sure why, but this is workable. I'll...
Just in case anybody is reading this thread and trying to figure out Bluetooth is not working with the WiFi version on the ROG Maximus XI. I have tip to share.
The issue I see is that using the SHIFT-OPTION click on the Bluetooth menu near the clock always show 00-00-00-00. To fix this I just...
