new flash drive worked, but now when I click on the HS HD from the boot loader menu it hangs at a black screen with a full white loading bar but doesn't go to log in screen. I'll do a verbose boot and try to take some screen shots.
which option? If I choose the target disk (the one I am trying to install HS on, it just hangs at the apple logo). If I reload the USB install, it appears to start over. I just made a new USB and till give it another go. I will also try what you suggested without reformatting the target HD.
I created an install USB following the guide and went to use it to run a fresh install on my hard drive. I load into the installer and erase the target drive as the guide says, the installer starts but says it will take about 4 min, with about 2 min left the installation stops and it restarts...
You were 100% correct. I was on 3,1. I changed it like you suggested and the installer worked. However, once I restarted apparently it didn't take. It said the install was successful but my "about this mac" still says I'm on El Capitan!?
I am currently running El Capitan and thought I should upgrade my OS. At first I tried the direct install approach but the App store said that High Sierra cannot be installed on m machine and wouldn't even let me download it.
I downloaded HS from my laptop and made a USB drive from the guide...
So I removed the wrong extensions folder, but I don't know how to get to the System/Library/Extension folder on my El Captain HD because I am looking at it through my backup and the system folder is not visible on the hard drive.
Hey I have just made the upgrade to el captain and am getting the repeating restart error. Attached are the verbose readouts and I was hoping someone might help me identify the error and even better what the solution might be.
I am converting from chimera to clover. I read that the two can...
I needed to add some boot flags like GraphicsEnabler=Yes, and PCIRootUID=1 in order for it to boot. Never had to do that with a USB installer before in my previous builds.
I had my computer freezing within 3 to 5 minutes after booting up. My disk utility said there was a problem with my boot...
I accidentally deleted my USB drive with Yosemite on it a while ago and now need to make a new one to run a disk repair on my main hard drive. I downloaded Unibeast 5.1 and Yosemite from the app store, I followed the directions and still can't get the USB drive to load on my machine.
If I...
This is what I get with DropDSST=yes (which as I understand it needs to be in the plist for chimera to load the aml file) graphics enabler yes and the aml file in extras. (see picture). The card highlighted is the card giving me issues. I have gotten it "recognized" before with just graphics...
Graphics enabler makes the second card visible, as in it no longer says display, but has all the Invidia info, however, connecting a monitor to it doesn't work. I will try graphics enabler yes and try your fixes. Hope it works. thanks so much for the help thus far.
Nothing doing. I tried each of the three variables you suggested. putting the SSDT in the extras file, adding the line in the plist, and then taking the SSDT out and leaving the line in the plist. All three tests were negative...
