I updated from Apple's software Update and everything is working just fine. The first boot didn't work and my PC rebooted itself (so don;t be alarmed) but at the second time it booted just fine.
well you could put inside a cd and then run the program but I don;t think it works after you remove the cd from the drive.
I used sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOSCSIMultimediaCommandsDevice.kext
Beside the errors, now the drive...
Well, if it was linux yes. But OSX works differently. So, the answer is no. I would be grateful if you could send me the link where you saw that one can change the interval of polling drives. Perhaps we could change it that way.
Take care.
The Volume of a drive is either the newly created folder in /Volumes once you pop in a cd or the disk link that comes up when you insert a cd in /dev
Python scripts run natively in Lion. Just create one for yourself and then you can run it from terminal using 'python /path/to/script'
Edit---
I...
Will look into that. I know for a fact that in Linux the cdrom drive is actually a hard link to /dev/cdrom. Therefore it behaves sort of like a drive (well, the mounting options are different but that is another story).
Here's hoping for tomorrow's digging...
See here.
So OSX doesn't separate hdds from optical drives? So much for being a smart OS. I remember having the same problem in Ubuntu and I don't remember how I got it right. I am searching to find out how (hoping that since they both share a Unix background, they will have similar functions)...
I know this ius not a big deal, but I would like it not to happen.
Once logged in Lion, every 10 minutes or so I can hear the optical drive checking to see if there is a disc in the tray. Can I stop that? If I do, will it mean anything to the OS?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Re: Adding ATI card IDs to ATI.c - update (8-Sept)
It seems that either one of the options Aticonfig=Ipomoea or Mangabey or Juncus just enables the graphic portion of this update in Chimera. I don't know what the difference is, apart from the fact the they have different ConnectorInfo. My card...
Re: Sapphire Radeon 6670 1Gb
Well, I just tested the options from the post that I mentioned...
It seems that Aticonfig=Ipomoea or Mangabey or Juncus just enable the graphic portion of this update in Chimera.
My card is Sapphire 1Gb 6670 with those specs:
Vendor:0x1002
DeviceID:0x6758...
Re: Sapphire Radeon 6670 1Gb
So I updated my (F10) DSDT with Chimera 1.4.1 (in Multibeast 3.8) and everything seems to work fine.
Off to find out why 1.5.4 in MB 4.0.2 is failing and whether I can restore it to good state or not...
Edit: GraphicsEnabler=no seems to do the job for the time...
