5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

Exactly, it's 1920x1080 HiDPI instead of 2560X1440 HiDPI. 5K was nice but cursor problems are too annoying for everyday work. I also had the feeling that the problem is worse when using Parallels.

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

After a couple of months of experience with a Dell UP2715K I came to the conclusion that I would NOT recommend this monitor for a hackintosh setup. Apart from the issues with black or split screen at startup, which can be solved with a power cycle, or the sleep issues some user are experiencing...

    GPU for a 5K monitor (Dell UP2715K)

Unfortunately, after over a month of testing with my system stripped down to the minimum (no ethernet, no audio, no bluetooth, native wifi and native USB injection as described in this guide), I can say the issue is definitely related to 5K. Without nv_spanmodepolicy=1 my system wakes up just...

    GPU for a 5K monitor (Dell UP2715K)

The only exotic detail seems the dual gpu... Just out of curiosity, have you tried with a single GPU setup? What is you GPU? Is your sleep working? If you find a good solution to automatically power cycle the monitor, please share your findings!

    GPU for a 5K monitor (Dell UP2715K)

Your issues are pretty different from mine. My sleep is broken but display sleep works fine. Can you describe your system?

    [GUIDE] Sierra on the GA-Z170X-UD3

Just to be sure, you either use usbinjectall.kext with port limit patch or the vanilla solution proposed by this guide (which involves two file to place in APCI/patched and a Drop Table entry in config.plist). When you generate the SSDTs with usb-ssdt.command, note that you have to manually edit...

    GPU for a 5K monitor (Dell UP2715K)

It would be useful (at least for me) to have some more details of the issues you all are experiencing and understand if they are tied to any particular configuration or hardware. For me, adding nv_spanmodepolicy to boot arguments successfully enables 5k but also breaks sleep. With 5k, my system...

    [GUIDE] Sierra on the GA-Z170X-UD3

I would restart from scratch with a Display Port connection. Can you see your bios? Can you install Sierra and make it bootable with Multibeast or Clover before installing Nvidia drivers? If you can manage to get to this point, I don't think your system is faulty. After that, you may need a...

    [GUIDE] Sierra on the GA-Z170X-UD3

If you want help, you may better put all the details of your system in your signature, so people can point you in the right direction. It seems you have a 980Ti, which is very common among the people around here and seems to work fine with NvidiaWeb drivers like any other Maxwell card (9XX...

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

This is another screenshot of what I get with the "Show low resolution modes" ticked. There are two 2560x1440 modes. One is scaled, the one I'm using is retina (it doesn't say retina but it is the same sharpness I get on my Retina MacBookPro).

You should have 2560x1440 Hidpi, here is my screenshot

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

This is what happens to me just after the boot. Then I switch the monitor off and on again, and the monitor is finally detected as a single 5k. If it doesn't happen, you may try to unplug the monitor's power cord. Also make sure that the blue dotted DP cord is attached on the primary DP port on...

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

5k worked for me by executing this command: sudo nvram boot-args="nv_spanmodepolicy=1" You can verify if the value is inserted correctly with this command: nvram -p (nvram content is a bit messy in terminal, you can check it better with IORegistry 2.1) Howerer, I had the same results more...

    Unable to see multiple monitors

I don't see the Nvidia logo on your bar, so you may not have the Nvidia Web drivers installed (or they don't load because of nv_disable=1, which I don't think is needed). After you install the NvidiaWeb drivers, you also have to check NvidiaWeb in your clover config...

5K Resolution (5120x2880) via NVIDIA Drivers on Dell UltraSharp 27" Monitor

You should at least give some details about your system if you want support, motherboard, gfx, etc. What terminal commands didi you try? Also, be sure that the blue dotted DP connector is attached to port 0 of your graphic card, which is generally the one closer to the motherboard.

Mouse pointer / Mouse cursor issues in Sierra

I'm not 100% sure but I noticed that the issue disappears if I sleep my display and I wake it again. It seems more reliable than a power cycle.

[Guide] Creating a Custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext

Thank you for your great guide! I made a custom SSDT and removed the port limit patch, so now only the ports I selected show up correctly in IOreg. However, on my board (z170x-ud3) there is also a red USB 3.1 (and a USB type C which I can't test). The red USB 3.1 shows up in IOreg under RP01@1C...
