I'm doing a new build with an MSI Z170A-G45 Gaming and 6700k (disregard the other build in my sidebar).
I've got El Capitan installed thanks to the tips in this guide (http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/10-11-4-skylake-starter-guide.193628/). There's just one oddity. The first time I boot up the...

Mobo: MSI Z170A-G45 GAMING
CPU: 6700k (Skylake)
Following the master El Capitan install guide (http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/u...upported-intel-based-pc.172672/#install_elcap)
First I followed the main guide, but after step 4, I got stuck. El Capitan had...
Doing a brand new build (not the one in my sidebar).

Disregard specs in the sidebar...that's my old Hackintosh.
Today I'm Hackintoshing a different one, a new Skylake one. I'm using a ASRock Z170 Pro4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard with a 6700k -- taken right off the April buyer's guide.
I'm following the El Cap instructions here to the T...
Disregard specs on the sidebar; this is a new build.
I'm using a ASRock Z170 Pro4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard with a 6700k -- taken right off the April buyer's guide. I'm trying my best to follow the step-by-step guide for El Capitan (here...
I'm starting a new Hackintosh build (please disregard specs in my profile -- those are a previous build.)
Mobo is a ASRock Z170 Pro4 and the processor is a 6700k.
I followed the guide but got stuck at the black-screen-white-Apple-hang, so went back into the BIOS to hunt for things I might have...
PLEASE DISREGARD THE BUILD IN MY PROFILE TO THE LEFT - THAT'S A DIFFERENT HACKINTOSH!
I've been playing with this older PC that I've resuscitated to a Hackintosh.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
Video card: PNY Nvidia GeForce GT610 (also tried an older PNY GeForce 8500GT DDR2)
CPU: Q8400...
I know the "official" advice in the Buyer's Guide is to avoid Skylake for the time being. Are there any non-Skylake motherboards -- or any motherboards in general -- which are very reliably/easily Hackintoshable, which support 64GB+ of RAM?
(I looked but didn't immediately find any.)
PLEASE DISREGARD THE BUILD IN MY PROFILE TO THE LEFT -- THAT'S A DIFFERENT HACKINTOSH!
I've resuscitated an old PC, running on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard with a Core 2 Duo CPU, and (mostly) successfully hackintoshed it.
The graphics card is a PNY GeForce 8500GT DDR2 512MB PCIe. I had...
I just successfully resuscitated an older DIY PC and was able to put El Capitan on it and figured I would document it in case it was helpful to anyone.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz
Graphics card: PNY GeForce 8500GT DDR2 512MB PCIe
Here's how it was...
I'd like to retain the option to install both El Capitan and Windows 7 on my Hackintosh.
How do I format and partition one physical drive to be able to do both?
I'm pretty sure that the Mac OS requires a GUID partitioning scheme, and doesn't Windows require a Master Boot Record? Or can it...
I just successfully built my first PC and, as of a few minutes ago, got El Cap up and running in it and as you can imagine, I'M THRILLED!!
Is there a post-build checklist anywhere on this site? If not, may I suggest it be written? Something that has a list of things you should check to see if...
[SOLVED] Can't install El Cap: reboot after Apple logo
SOLVED UPDATE: Suddenly got this working. No idea why. Yesterday I tried about 5 different Unibeast installs followed by launches and they would always fail on launch on the PC, either at the Apple logo (sudden reboot) or at the 100%...
I'm looking at following the CustoMac Pro recipe from December 2015 (http://www.tonymacx86.com/building-customac-buyers-guide-december-2015.html#CustoMac_Pro) to a T, and it includes the i7-4790k processor. The 4790k chip does have graphics support (Intel® HD Graphics 4600).
My video needs are...
New to the party here, and I'm looking for the most powerful Mac Pro replacement I can buy. So I've been through the Dec 2015 buyer's guide looking for the Mac Pro equivalent...except I'm not sure it really is all that equivalent since it's just got a single i7 chip in there, which is fast, but...
