@CaseySJ,
I have been running Big Sur for some time.
It's a handful that won't "start" until I do a "sudo touch /Library/Extensions" then they all finish loading within a few seconds. These are the ones (that I can see) that aren't starting until that:
- HighPoint*.kext drivers - All my...
Hi @CaseySJ,
I hope all is well!
No sign of that...and I didn't do any enabling/disabling of SIP...and "csrutil status" shows SIP enabled:
I've read that updating the KEXT cache has changed in Big Sur. I saw this on a forum but I'm not sure it's correct (it referenced this procedure for...
Here's the output of the "sudo kextcache -i /"
kextcache -i /
Executing: /usr/bin/kmutil install --volume-root / --check-rebuild
rebuilding local auxiliary collection
kmutil done
I've attached a photo of my L/E directory.
Hi @Feartech,
Thank you for the reply. So every time I install an app that installs a "kext" I should move it manually to /EFI/OC/Kexts?
Also, if I do that they each need entries in config.plist and need to be "enabled", correct?
Hello All,
Since my updates to OC 0.7.0 and 0.7.1 my system isn't loading L/E upon a reboot unless I do a
"sudo touch /Library/Extensions"
once booted and logged in. And for whatever reason, I still have to do that again the next time I reboot in order to load the extensions in L/E.
Before I...
Hi @zakinster,
Thank you for pointing all of us to the Corsair Commander Pro "fix" for Big Sur! I may be doing something wrong, but I put "CommanderProFix.kext" in EFI/OC/Kexts and updated the NVRAM boot parameters with "-revbeta".
It isn't working as Big Sur still believes a UPS is connected...
Hi @CaseySJ,
I forgot to mention that I have an "add" to your working list of accessories on your main guide:
- MOTU Fireface UFX+ (https://www.rme-usa.com/fireface-ufx.html)
This is a TB2 device and I use the Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter...
Hi All,
Ok... After upgrading to 10.15.5 I ran the GB5 Metal and OpenCL tests with and without my newly modified "RadeonBoost-v1-6+Vega.kext" (attached and created using @scottkendall's suggestion) and compared them to my 10.15.4 install.
For reference, here are my 10.15.4 results with RBoost...
Hello Everyone!
Quick question on upgrading to 10.15.5. I've seen a number of discussions on RadeonBoost.
Since I'm running "RadeonBoost-v1-4+Vega.kext" right now, can I still use it after the upgrade or does anyone know if v1.6...
Hello Everyone,
After some more searching I finally found a simple and quick way to solve my "Wake from USB" challenges...

and here...
Hi @CaseySJ,
Did that a bit ago and it still is waking right up. Look like my three RME Audio Devices (one is connected via TB and the other two via USB) are very "chatty"...when I shut all three of those off sleep worked.
It's really not a great option for me to shut all three of those down...
Hi @CaseySJ,
I removed the HS11/HS12 and rebooted and it still wakes immediately from sleep. I've pulled another 3 or 4 USB connections and it is still doing the same. Here's the log:
2020-05-04 21:05:01.299382-0700 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake reason...
I know :-(
It’s just because of all my Corsair items connected internally to HS11/HS12. It would be great to have the option to not have to worry about any USB device waking the system and only having the power button do the waking :)

Hi @CaseySJ
There's one final thing I've LOVE to get working on my system and that's sleep by make some SSDT changes so only the power button can wake the system.
I found this posting:
