yeah it's always a risk. Technically, real macs do use kepler that support mojave but even those macs are experiencing performance issues since HS. If real macs are experiencing UI lag, etc and Apple has done nothing, rx 580 could easily be the next 660 in a few years. Hardware support in macOS...
Is it just me or is the build signature that's underneath my username on these forums keep resetting after a few hours. For example, I'd write Sapphire RX 580, and it keeps reverting to RX 580 within a few hours.
Thought it had to be 4 but it looks like it's different and ok as long as they match. Thanks.
As for temp, i used HW monitor/terminal for mac and gpu-z for windows. The card runs(and feels) hotter in macOS and fans spin up at 52, cool down to 45 and stop spinning. Warms back up to 52. Starts...
Hello! Would you be able to double check my file? It looks like power management does not seem to be fully working (Idles at 45-52) but in windows, it idles at 27-30. I have native PM working for the CPU (downclocks to 800 mhz on idle)
Im also missing: Heuristic-ID: 4
Ive attached ioreg...
Ok im looking at your config.plist and dang there's a lot of patches and switches going on here.
Also, i vaguely recall HD 530/630 having wake issues. Do you have any dedicated graphics cards by any chance? I could never get my HD 530 to wake properly. Like you, it goes to sleep but then on...
Figured. The GTX 660 is especially worse in HS+. For other cards like 650, there's often a "quiet period" before it starts glitching. Apple really messed up kepler drivers (Even real macs with kepler are still suffering from UI sluggishness)
Yep it wouldnt show up in system profiler. A way to check this is to open intel power gadget and see if there is a section called GT (green line graph) In my case, if i play a video in VLC, the iGPU kicks in and shows activity (0.35GHz)
Try playing a movie in VLC/Quicktime
Or opening Photos.app and messing around there.
Glitches for me come up instantly with those activities. Ironically, heaven/valley benchmarks often complete with no hiccups. This was even with my iGPU activated as a connectorless id and working correctly...
I have it as enabled but the default output is set to PCIE 0. When i had it disabled, id get weird glitches/crashes in some places (e.g. the magic mouse pref animation)
As for clover, I am injecting the connectorless platform id for skylake processors (HD 530) along with whatevergreen but...
I tried the web drivers. Didnt work at all as glitches were instant. That being said, apparently it does work a lot better for 650 ti users (not boost)
