Ok, that didn't make much difference - back to not being able to boot with the TB3 card enabled...

UPDATE: I rebooted with the AIC disabled. Cleared the NVRAM using terminal and "nvram -c". Now clover boots but the system kernel panics. Will continue to investigate..
