It's been a while since I added this bluetooth controller. I don't remember the steps at the time but I haven't done anything special since then - I've just followed the instructions from various parts of this thread which has made upgrades remarkably easy.
I'm sure there are unnecessary kexts...
I just upgraded from macOS 11.7.2 Big Sur to Monterey 12.5.1 via direct update. All went well with my existing OpenCore 0.8.3 setup.
That is, except for my USB Bluetooth adapter, an IOGEAR GBU 521.
My searches have not turned up a way to get this tiny adapter to work. I only use Bluetooth for...
A question about various the BIOS mentioned in this thread -
First, let me say my setup is working fine. My motherboard came with BIOS F8 when I received it around July 1st. I followed the instructions in this thread with great success and was able to get my Mojave install to boot on the new...
Thanks for the quick answer!
Sounds like (given my plan to stay with Mojave as long as I can) a Z490 system should be possible but currently a hassle. While I appreciate a Z490 setup would be newer/faster/better I suspect the improvements over the Z390 are incremental and in my case probably...
Oh, man. page 2309?? No doubt this has been a good and super-useful thread...
I am about to replace my crazy-old but still-working-well Z77-DS3H + i7-2700k cpu hackintosh running Mojave. I want to build a new hackintosh before non-intel cpus are a real world thing. I have no interest (at this...
I have the same problem - I have read it is due to a graphics init issue. In my case it is from mismatched board (Ivy Bridge) and chip (Sandy Bridge). They are Gigabyte Z77-DS3H and a i7-2700k, not that the specifics matter much.
Unibeast has worked fine - it handled this well for me with...
The good news is my build is up and running nicely. Finally. Board came Wednesday but CPU and ram did not arrive until Thursday evening. The assembly went pretty fast - it didn't take long until I got my first successful POST. But it took a good part of Friday to get the install working...
I am about to order this motherboard and it will likely come with F9 (or newer?).
My (noob) question - was it hard / easy / trivial to make an appropriate DSDT for your board with the F9 BIOS? Not that it matters, but I expect to put a 2700k in it, not an Ivy Bridge chip.
