Hi RehabMan!
I tried installing Sierra on a NUC5i3MYHE but the computer freezes with a line full of +++++++++++++++++++++ in verbose mode.
I thought I followed your instructions line by line but I certainly made a mistake somewhere...
Could you please help me? Thanks a lot!
Seb
I fixed it!
The reason why it crashed is probably because I did not exactly followed your instructions but I don't know exactly how I did this mistake.
What I did to fix it: I ran 'make install_sc' and it output errors about permissions forbidding removing files in the...
No I only have 1 recommended 8GB ram module. It is clearly stated on Intel website that a single ram module is compatible if installed in the lower bank:
If you plan to install just one SO-DIMM, install it in the lower memory socket.
And the single 8GB Samsung ram module I have is also cited...
I put the 8GB Samsung recommended ram module on upper bank and I get the same issues. I'm currently in Safari and there's a vertical shift between displayed mouse position and focus display (in attached screenshot the cursor was over the "issue"word). Could this be due to bad ram modules?...
I have a PC laptop with recommended RAM (1x 8GB Samsung).
I installed it in the SC and same result: I couldn't even type this message because it's so crashy I had to copy the log to a USB key then type my message on my PC :(
My PC laptop (Y700) now runs nicely with the Crucial 16GB.
0:100...
No way to keep my little secrets :)
I have 2x 4GB Kingston and 1x16GB Crucial and tested both. When you were asking the 1x16GB was in the box
How to display this info?
Is it possible in the bios to reduce stress on RAM or disable dual channel to check if my ram sticks are the culprit?
Yes it seemed stable under Windows (I delete the Windows partition yesterday).
I use 1x16GB Crucial RAM in bottom slot... which is not in Intel recommended list.
Could you please give me the reference of yours?
Thanks again
Thank you! This solved the boot issue :)
However the setup is pretty unstable: applications crash really often. Is this normal behavior on this setup? What can I do to improve stability? Can the Skull Canyon be on par with the NUC6i5 in terms of usability?
Anyway, thank you very much for your...
I tried with Clover 3974 and 3994. I can try building my own Clover. Which revision is known to work with the NUC6i7KYK?
TL;DR:
I installed 10.12.2 on NUC6i5 then upgraded to 10.12.3.
I clovered the SSD for Skull Canyon and booted it (had to set other BIOS settings)
I can now boot the NUC6i7...
I downloaded the macOS/OS X installers from AppStore with iMac mid-2011 running OS X 10.9.5
macOS Sierra installer : v10.12.2 downloaded 2 weeks ago
OS X El Capitan installer : downloaded feb-1-2017
I installed Clover with my MBP early-2008 running 10.11.6
I created installers using...
I tested with 2 different monitors:
- BenQ GL2450
- Iiyama XB2483HSU-B2
It is connected to HDMI.
Yes I tried invalid ig-platform-id but only from Clover options, not by modifying config.plist
BIOS Settings per your guide (applied several times)
BIOS version is: KYSKLi70.86A.0037.2016.0603.1032...
Thank you. I added EmuvariableUefi-64.efi and tried:
- installer from USB --> grey screen
- NUC6i5 installer from HD --> runs "Install macOS" then Crashes
I installed the sierra installer on the SSD using my NUC6i5 then booted the Skull Canyon on this SSD Using the config_install_nuc6_sc.plist and got a crash report (please see screen shot)
Any idea, please? Thanks!
I used the front left one (orange) when getting to grey screen. If I plug it in the right one (blue) I get a "forbidden" screen.
EDIT: I reapplied BIOS Settings and now I can see the OS X Installer (language selection panel) before it goes to grey screen. Once I could even see the panel where...
Hi!
I successfully installed Sierra on a NUC6i5 but I can't install it on a Skull Canyon.
I use the same USB key that worked for the non Skull Canyon but replaced the config.plist and the installer shows the Apple logo with progress bar then after the usual graphics glitch I get a grey screen...
