You can either google how to decrypt from the recovery drivers, decrypt, put in the right drivers and retry... or you can pull the drive, plug it in to another system and copy the drivers, or try to copy the drivers from an install boot disk or EFI partition using terminal in the recovery...

The fixit mentions "SR2C9," which is z170, but if anyone can tell me how to check whether it's z170 or 270 without me opening it, I'll take a look on one I just got hold of.

I have the exact same results. I never had HD530 working, just boots as generic 8mb, fake id has 0 mb, but web drivers plus NvidiaWeb param works for me. Maybe try re-installing your web drivers (I'm on 358.05.05.15f01), also make sure web drivers is checked in the system preferences?

I realized the fakeID is unnecessary, just a coincidence and it actually only works for me every 2nd-5th boot attempt. Where would I find/check my memory frequency?

I just got my m2000m working by using the web drivers for m4000 and using nvda_drv=1 and a fake id for the m4000 "0x10DE13F1" and Nvidia_inject=false.
