    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I updated this afternoon to 13.3.1 with OC 0.9.0. Wi-Fi works (can’t check Ethernet), but I had to turn both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off, restart, and reset nvram for it to work. This is something that happens on my system from time to time, and after much troubleshooting this works best for...

    Ventura Auto update settings

Thanks- I always have a backup, but at the moment I need to keep this machine running, so I'll turn off for now. I'll circle back and give it a try when I can afford the time to maybe break stuff ;)

    Ventura Auto update settings

I just updated to Ventura. "System Settings" has been completely overhauled. I've always turned off auto update on my hacks, but now there is an option to auto "Install Security Responses and System Files" Anyone know if this is safe to leave on with our hacks?

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

You can find a RX 6600 XT at a lower price point than that linked 5700 XT, and I think it'll probably be about the same in performance. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong there.

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I couldn't help myself and have jumped on the z690 wagon after watching all of your beautiful minds work out Alder Lake, so THANK YOU a million times over FYI for anyone with a Gigabyte RX 6600 XT Eagle card and using MacPro7,1. I noticed my RX 6600 XT was not being shown properly in Photoshop...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ & @jaymonkey I have a gen 2 Magic Mouse and gen 2 magic keyboard, and both seem to work great at startup, in BIOS, and in Monterey. I use a YOUBO (BCM94360CD) pci-e card. I started this build with a Fenvi, which uses the same Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipset I think, but for some reason...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks much, Casey. Up and running OC 0.7.8 on Montery 12.2. Once I updated to OC 0.7.8 my WiFi went on the fritz, only allowing me to connect to my 2.5GHz network. My 5GHz network would sometimes show up in the list of networks, sometimes not, and could never connect. The 2.5GHz would drop...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

So I can report that this has fixed my issues of USB drives disconnecting during sleep and kernel panic from wake. In BIOS I kept my XMP profile 1, and just changed the system memory multiplier from Auto to 2666MHz. I have 4x32 Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3200 MHz. No discernible difference for my...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Good to hear! I'll have to try this, especially after reading up on this thread as well: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/usb-devices-eject-on-sleep.297256/ I haven't been able to get my system to sleep without USB drives disconnecting (using jettison fixes this) and panic after wake...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I can only speak for myself, but the issue was this: The EFI provided for Vision-G has 2 audio codec id's, one is in the boot args as alcid=11, and the other is in device properties PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3) that has the device-id set to 709D0000. Audio does not work on my G with...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Ha, I usually have boot chime off, and every time I update I go through everything else in the config, but then every time forget to switch it off... until it blasts my ears (speakers have their own volume control). It has become my own little ritual. Up and running 0.7.6, much obliged ;)...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

And my board is a G, so anyone else with a D may be better suited to guide you here. You can try to remove any audio devices listed in device properties and then add an alcid=xxx boot arg, one at a time, until you find the one that works for you. The ALC1220 supports layouts 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Yes, Keep all other boot args you have. Also, make sure you change the “type” from number to data. That is paramount. After making those changes reset nvram by pressing space bar at oc bootloader. Doing this basically moves the alcid=xxx boot arg into device properties. Per Dortania install...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

So I just removed my boot arg alcid=11 and added the correct device property id that is equal to alcid=11 which is <0B000000> and it works! Maybe the reason my layout id of 28 worked in device properties for my vision g was because it was an incorrect number that the alcid=11 boot arg was just...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hey @CaseySJ I was looking on the Fixing Audio with AppleALC dortania webpage, and noticed that it states that the boot arg alcid=xxx takes top priority and will ignore all other entries like in DeviceProperties. If thats the case, is it incorrect to define a device property for AppleALC while...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Changing the device layout id fixed my audio issue, maybe give this a try. EDIT you should choose to use EITHER alcid=11 boot arg or device properties for sound, not both. I had alcid=11 as a boot arg while using this device id, so the boot arg was overriding anything I put in device properties...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I've been working in Bridge/Photoshop/Capture One pretty heavily the last few weeks with good results with 12.1 Beta 3 (21C5039b). Only thing I've noticed that is a bit of a bother is my mouse is "slightly" (and I mean slightly) jumpy when I click too quickly while using the heal or clone tool...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I'm not in my studio today, but I can check tomorrow when I'm there and will remove agdpmod=pikera and report back. If I remember correctly I wasn't able to boot without it. Yes, my beta version is 21C5039b. my smbios is different from yours, I'm iMacPro1,1. Because of that, and because Im...

New SSDs added to the recommended list of the Buyer's Guide

@trs96 My OS is on a Western Digital SN750, and I'm now using my old Samsung SSD 960 EVO as a scratch disk for photoshop (no storage, strictly scratch disk). Both have TRIM enabled. Do you see any issues with that due to the 960 having TRIM issues? Should I turn off TRIM for the 960 EVO...
