Can someone on the latest Catalina public beta see if they have 2.1A USB charging working?
For some reason I can't seem to get more than 500Ma working when connecting my iPhone XS to any USB port
Seems to be an issue even on my 2018 MBP 13" for some reason
I remember there were no issues in...
I'm just doing some testing now with the iMacPro definition to see if the darkwakes resolve themselves now. With iMac19,1 the system will go to sleep but once it wakes up, it'll stay awake. I'm also running the latest Public beta of Catalina but this issue was present in 10.14.5 after switching...
Sorry @pastrychef it's been a while and been very busy lately. Glad your hack is working perfectly with the iMacPro1,1 definition.
So I'm assuming you now disable the iGPU?
What about Quicksync now the iGPU is disabled? Out of curiosity can you still have the iGPU enabled with the iMacPro1,1...
Found this on 9to5mac here
You enter your email and you get sent a serial code for either the MacOS app or the Windows app.
This is a serial for the ultimate edition that retails for $78.90
This app is fantastic as it utilises Quicksync on MacOS and Quicksync, ATI or Nvidia acceleration on...
Yes that is how its meant to work, it utilises Intel QuickSync. If you get the Intel Power Gadget then you can verify if your conversion is indeed using QS or not. I find QS conversion much faster than regular CPU and even GPU conversion.
Also everybody, the new VideoProc Video Converter that can utilize Intel Quicksync is now being given away for free! Limited time only but this usually costs a fair penny. Also you can download the version for Windows that will also utilize Quicksync, Nvidia or ATI cards.
Here is the link from...
That could quite possibly be an AVX offset that is in the bios. I believe the default is 'AUTO'.
On my i7 8700k on a Asus Strix E Z370, I set the AVZ offset to 0. This means the processor will run at the max frequency when performing AVX tasks. Also I have 'Sync all cores' checked, meaning that...
Please be aware that if you do end up using the DW1560 then unless you disable "Wake on LAN" you will experience very slow WiFi after you wakeup from sleep. Another fix for this is by using the Lilu plugin "AirportBrcmFixup" which will disable "Wake on Lan" on that card.
If you end up using...
Hey! I had a similar issue, I used the VGATab kext and it somehow reduced performance significantly and didn't do anything
After some reading and experimenting I found that putting the table in the "devices" section of config.plist resolves the issue for me.
I am using a Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro+...
This is what comes up, I have tried both revisions with similar results. I am on the latest beta so I have this feeling it is the beta and should be resolved by the final release. I don't have the latest MacOS High Sierra build to test if it works there

It is a fresh install, also if using the iGPU for quicksync, one must currently still use the iMac18,3 SMBIOS since it has AGPM for both the iGPU and GPU, the iMacPro1,1 does not have a iGPU therefore is only applicable if using a GPU with the iGPU disabled
I have tried various platform-id's...
@pastrychef I'm using the latest 10.14 Mojave PB and implemented your latest changes "ig-platform-id changed to Coffee Lake" from v4.4 of your EFI and find that now the system immediately wakes after I put it to sleep, do you experience this too?
It will be worth it! Trust me I should have listened to @pastrychef a long time ago
Also in terms of gaming.. you would be surprised, if your monitor supports FreeSync which is AMD, then the experience is actually sometimes better than with the 1080Ti on my ultra wide monitor since my monitor...
I found no solution to the annoying issue. It is also why Unlock with Apple Watch never worked since bluetooth and in fact any connected USB device would be disconnected during wakeup. I ended up switching to the Z370 8700k platform for ease of use, and also switched my 1080Ti for a Sapphire...
Thankyou :)
After examining "BE088AF8C5EB4FA2" in S/L/AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext, the imac18,3 definition already has what the dAGPM kext has.. so is it correct to say there is no need for dAGPM for Vega AMD cards on the imac18,3 definition?
One needs to experience the smoothness for themselves and they will understand. The only issue I seem to have is that with my wide 3840x1600 monitor, the initial boot screens are very low resolution compared to the 1080Ti, is that the case with your monitor?
Are you able to run this in terminal...
It doesn't say it is supported by Apple, however MacRumors mentioned it doesn't have any fan issues.
In High Sierra, the fans seem to run at low / medium speed, not maximum thankfully.
I think I will stick to the iMac18,3 definition for proper GPU ASPM support.
But ever since switching from...
