Maybe Mt Whitney? The highest peak in all of the continental North America!
Or Bristlecone (after the ancient bristlecone forest which is where the oldest living thing on earth resides).
Just to finish up - i was able to install the proper kext and get my E2400 killer nic to work. Anyone else that has this ethernet card on their mobo - try this kext and see if it works.
Thanks RehabMan and Mieze b...
RehabMan; thanks for all of your help. was able to get this fixed and Mieze from Insanelymac just saved my life. She is amazing and basically rewrote the driver for my NIC and now it is working perfectly.
I know that TonyMac and MacMan are working on testing the MSI x99S mobo right now as per...
Thank you for all of your help. I was able to get the following kext downloaded and it just worked perfectly for the first time in months. I have been reformatting and reinstalling OS El Capitan several times and now it looks like it is working perfectly.

when i try to type in "sudo dmesg | grep E2200" nothing happens at all. it just gives me a new terminal command line. (* which i assume means that it wasn't loaded? =_)
seems that maybe there is a previous kext that clover loaded that could be causing this kext not to properly be installed...

still having some trouble if you don't mind to take a quick look
I don't have a way to check the lspci entry via linux but I can see through my DPCIManager that the numbers match (1969 E0A1 1462 7883) Qualcomm Atheros

this probably means you dragged and dropped it somewhere else accidentally. just open up finder and search for El Capitan and you should be able to find it that way.
I moved mine into a folder called Hackintosh and tried to redownload from App Store and it just kept going in that Hackintosh...
hi macman - does the new MultiBeast 8.0.1 fix any of the ethernet kexts? I am still struggling with getting my ethernet (E2400 kn) to work and know that you have been testing this system recently.
wondering if there would be some way to add the NullEthernet (from RehabMan) as an option to...
what bootflags are you using? try different USB slots on your pc to see if you are always getting to the same spot in verbose.
try adding slide=0 npci=0x2000 rootless=0 cpus=1 and see if you are still getting stuck at the abnormal code section.
also I may be able to get you a config.plist for you to add to your USB stick and see if that may get you to the install screen - but i won't be able to get it to you until the morning.
i had this issue and had to reflash my bios to the latest version and then reload optimized BIOS settings and then go back through and disable XHCI handoff, CFGlock and vt-D.
what boot flags are you using? have you tried getting into it with safemode (-x)
try this guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/127059-laymans-guide-access-mac-app-store-nullethernet-kext.html
but you really have to make sure you follow the instructions closely (i haven't been able to get it to work fully - but i know you have to make sure your mac address is added to...
read the rules. post your build. under big list of problems and solutions there is an entire section on abnormal code 255.
gotta do some research on that guide. post your full build and let us know what boot flags you are using.
is this an upgrade or new install?
i have been having the same issue. did you download DPCI manager? see if it shows up in the PCI list. you may have to install NullEthernet.kext.
I am working through this issue now and if i find any other info i will make sure to let you know.
So excited that you are testing this. i have been struggling with getting the ethernet NIC to show up as being built in. do you have any suggestions or anything that i can do to get this working?
see this thread for further info...
