    [SUCCESS] i5-6600K, Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3, Gigabyte Radeon R9 390

I never got the USB3 ports to work, nor the sound on my Sierra build. I gave up on it a while back. I've perused the linked writeup, but my eyes crossed not too far into it. I don't have a computer science degree, I'm just a fairly computer literate guy who wants OS X on his computer. Is there a...

keyboard and mouse not recognized on GA-Z170-HD3 DDR3

I'm having the same problem. The USB keyboard and mouse don't work if I plug them into the USB 2.0 ports below the PS2 (actually, my first problem was my PS2 keyboard stopped working after installing Sierra). I found that if I plug the keyboard and mouse into a USB 3.0 port (even though they're...

    [SUCCESS] i5-6600K, Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3, Gigabyte Radeon R9 390

I'm new: I assume the "installer" is the USB I created with Unibeast, but I don't see an EFI folder on it to insert those kexts into (as instructed on step 2). Sorry for the dumb question.

Unibeast 7 won't boot to install Sierra on GA-EX58-UD4P

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll have to go back to my dad's house, where the working Mac is, to be able to do all this. I'll update after I do.

Unibeast 7 won't boot to install Sierra on GA-EX58-UD4P

Ah, thanks. Yes, I set all the BIOS settings per the recommendations for an AWARD BIOS already. On my BIOS there doesn't seem to be an option to enable or disable my bootable disk and it fails before loading the Clover Boot Manager screen . I do hit F12 upon boot up to be able to select to boot...

Unibeast 7 won't boot to install Sierra on GA-EX58-UD4P

Thanks for the response. I did notice that the Unibeast Sierra installation guide don't instruct one to set 1 partition on the USB like the El Capitan guide did. Could skipping that step cause the problem, or did that requirement go away in the switch from Unibeast 6 to Unibeast 7? Where were...

Unibeast 7 won't boot to install Sierra on GA-EX58-UD4P

I'm having problem trying to install Sierra on my GA-EX58-UD4P system and i7-975 Bloomfield processor. I'm starting with a new SSD, not an upgrade. After I choose for the BIOS to boot from the USB it reads b1f:init for a while, then puts a 6 at the end, clears the screen and has an underscore...

    Unibeast 7.01 Won't Boot

I have the exact same problem trying to install Sierra on my GA-EX58-UD4P system and i7-975 Bloomfield processor, which has SSE4 support. I'm starting with a new SSD, not an upgrade. As the OP states, after I choose to boot from the USB it reads b1f:init for a while, then puts a 6 at the end...

Wireless card for GA-EX58-UD4P running Sierra?

I did try searching the forums for an answer before I posted so I hope I'm not posting a redundant query: My older desktop hackintosh had been running Lion until about 2 years ago starting to lock-up after a few minutes. I put it aside all this time, but now I've decided to install a new HDD...

Noob question regarding creating installation USB

Thank you for the clarification. So it's for the computer I plan to install Yosemite on, not the computer I'm using to download the software onto the USB drive, right?

Noob question regarding creating installation USB

Sorry to post this here, but it appears the OP has been locked. In the installation guide for Yosemite, in Step 2, 15 and 16 it says if you have a series 5 or 6 AWARD BIOS to choose "legacy USB support" but if you have a laptop to choose laptop support. Is this on the machine on which you're...

Lockups after about 5 minutes on GA-EX58-UD4P

Yes, I know, my system's a bit dated, but I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on. I built the system years ago (originally had Snow Leopard and I later upgraded to Lion) and everything's been running swimmingly. I've made no hardware and few, if any software changes. After...
